ok guys, i hope i'm not banned for this!
i've been wrenching on cars for many years now, i'm no stranger to an engine rebuild. My problem is that i've only had an affinity for musclecars- old one- CARBURATED ones.
i'm also pretty stinkin computer savy, and i enjoy both hobbies alot. And so, it was inevitable that the two come together.
my brother just hooked me up with a nice 91 eagle talon with an inline 6, and i'm all excited about trickin it out, but first, i want it to go as fast as it will eventually look.

so my question (finally) is this...what is the deal with all this ECM stuff- where can i find a good primer on these things, and all the associated lingo... and where can i find computer hardware/software to interface with the ECM, view the data, and modify the parameters?

i've found some links on this site, but they were broken, and google-ing didnt reveal much either.

thanks for your time, and knowledge!!!!
Dana

First off... Inline 6? No such thing in an Eagle Talon. Second thing, you didnt search hard enought. www.vfaq.com Spend a coupld days reading everything on that site then you'll have a jist of what the car is.

Hm, that is a rare bird.
Have you considered lifting that big, flat piece of metal on the front? It's called a "hood".

This whole site is jammed full of mods for DSMs. But don't expect it to be shovelled into your pie-hole with a silver spoon.

As for back-engineering the ECU..... well, it's easier with the 6-cylinder.
