Okay, to put it simply, in case any of these guys didn't explain it for you, let me put it this way. Imagine that the nitrous bottle is a can of soda, and the line to your motor (or intercooler, or whatever) is the straw leading to your mouth. When the soda (nitrous) is forced into your mouth (the engine) it has to move thruogh the straw first, so when you stop drinking, (theoretically) there's an amount still of soda (nitrous) in the straw. Now let's say you don't drink for a while, the soda (nitrous) in the can (bottle) is still nice and carbonated, or fresh if you will. The soda that's left over in the straw (the line) is old, and flat. Of course you don't wanna be drinking that, so what you do is "purge" the leftover "old" soda outside of your mouth, so that the next time you drink (spray) the soda (nitrous) is so fresh and so clean....clean.... Got it? Now I'm (DSM) going to go get some soda (Nitrous) for my girlfriend (Passenger that loves to ride the DSM). :thumb:
 
Yeh. Or, it's to clear out any air, vapor, or bubbles from the NO2 supply line, depending on whether it's a wet or dry setup. It sublmates to vapor as soon as it reaches the lower pressure of the atmosphere.

ok, when you pull that, and the person actually wants you to race. what are you going to say? its not connected, its straight from the bottle to a purge. or your going to be connecting it and seeing your engine. in better words. "go boom"

how bought this. a cheaper method and another way to destroy shiet. connect up a CO2 tank to a purge system. and have fun wasting time, space, money, and respect.

do this, you want something cool, learn about engines, build up your engine take it to a place called a "drag strip" run your car down that strip as fast as possible when the light turns green, youll get a piece of paper with numbers printed allover it. take that to people who know what theyre doing, if they laugh, buy and add more parts and repeat. and keep doing that until they stop laughin and appreciate your presence.

or learn how to tastefuly mod your car into a show car. sitting around :shhh: pickin your nose watching f2f aint gonna help when your driving your car.
 
i'm sure purge kits are going to be transfered from the realm of "kinda useful things that help when racing" like aluminum wings, to the realm of "I'm putting on my car even though I have no idea what it does, but just because it looks good (according to the movies)"....like ahem... aluminum wings...

On a side note, I had an argument with a honda driver you guys might find interesting. He told me that turbocharging a VTEC engine was "bad" because they are both high end power and the engine wouldn't be able to handle it.... ahem. yeah, he probably needs a purge it, to get rid of his VTEC fluid when his turbo is turned on.
 
checkers autoparts store, sells those nitrous kits with a purge kit.. its the fast and furious kit, look for a green box next to the altezas, and gauges. :rolleyes:

A wet system adds extra fuel where as a dry system does not. There is no difference in purging between the two.
 
nitrous doesnt go "flat" or whatever you were trying to say all a purge does is get the air out of the line so you get a straight shot of nitrous into the engine my buddy doesnt run a purge system and the first few seconds of nitrous arent as powerfull as the last because of the air in the line also if you purge your nitrous onto someone like he did in 2###2curious you'll freeze their skin
