Hi, my valve cover has a crack and whenever i rev up the engine the oil will shoot out and spread to the whole engine bay. Then i bought a valve cover from ebay with powdercoated it has the same problem, so i gave up on buying used. I searched all over the internet couldnt find one company sells the new valve cover. Does anyone know?

Have you tried the local mitsu dealer? They should be able to order one for you.

Just fork out the extra cash and purchase a BRAND new one from the dealer or at Slowboy Racing: http://www.slowboyracing.com/more.php?id=2081&

In the long run, it'll be worth the money. I had the same issue with the crack (near the spark plugs). I lucked out and was given a new polished valve cover. :D

Think about it, how much have you spent so far on valve covers + gaskets + time?

Was the one off of ebay cracked when you got it??? Or are you cracking them when you are putting it back on? It's very easy to do, because they only require a small amount of torque, at least less than you would think necessary. No matter where you get one, make sure you're torquing them to spec, which is like 4 ft/lbs or something small like that.

Very good point that I forgot to mention, that is one of the leading causes of these valve covers cracking. I don't put much torque on them at all. Also, tighten them as you would a wheel (criss/cross pattern). You should depend on the RTV for sealing the cover anyway.

You're really ####ed up if you pay any more then $50.00 tops. It's a valve cover, You can get a good condition valve cover for $30.00 and have it all done up for less then $50.00 total and you won't even know it was used. You're decision though, I know I won't waste my money on a brand new one.
