Would it be better to repaint my grey interior pieces black, or buy ones? I have seen cars with the two tone interiors and thought it looked really good. Thanks!

You can use Krylon Fusions paint to paint your current panels black. We did this with my friend RJ's 1st gen Talon's gray panels. I had before and after pics, but I think I lost them. The Fusions paint is extremely durable, both to physical abuse and chemicals. We tested his rear shock tower cover panel at work. After one coat dried (very quickly) we attempted to scratch it with a screwdriver. The paint dulled a bit, but did not flake off or peel off. Brake parts cleaner didn't really do much to it either. The paint also sprays on more evenly than regular spray paint. One coat is usually all it takes to completely cover a piece. I think we used three cans and did his entire interior paneling from the B-pillar back, including the plastic side-sills. And since RJ is a perfectionist, we were painting both sides of the panels.

One thing to note is that the paint goes on with an Armor-all shine already on it. It looks glossy even after it dries. It even fills in or covers up minor imperfections/gouges in the plastic. I really can't say enough good things about it. If I get a chance to pick up some spare interior panels, I may do a black or 2-tone interior on my car.

it's a lot easier to paint them. Most people recommend Krylon Fusion or Duplicolor Fabric and Vinyl paint. Both are lacquer based paints and have great finishes. Apparently, Duplicolor makes a bit more of an OEM look. Since black wasn't a stock color of interior, you're gonna have to make it yourself.

Black was totally a stock interior color. The tan and black two-tone is pretty common. I believe the OS Editions had a black interior, also. Pics of Dee's black doors and stuff.

Here's a pic of RJ's interior BEFORE painted the panels. We had just gotten done removing all of the sound deadening, went through every wire and removed the unnecessary ones, and used primer on all the metal for a cleaned up look.

Imagine the same interior, only shiny black, with no visible scuff marks. It was an amazing sight. :)

The Krylon Fusion seems to hold up well, I found some grey interior pieces at the junkyard and painted them.

I personally like the spray paing from autozone, make sure its the vinyl, plastic, paint...i used the white color a couple years ago and it is also shiny and very dependable in my opinion..good luck on what ever you decide:)

+1 for the dupli-color flat black. Check out my gallery for pics of my interior. It's held up for years no with no problems.

I did end up using factory black interior door handles and cups as I figured that would wear out quickly, but everything else is dupli-color.

Surface prep is key to making it last. I sprayed everything down with brake parts cleaner and let it soak for a bit. Any bit of armor-all or grease will mess it all up.

I have also seen lots of black interior parts in junkyards, check them out.

97+ Eclipses had the option for Black/Tan and Black/Grey interiors. Never saw any 95-96 eclipses with them but perhaps they also had black/tan. Pretty sure those only had all tan or all grey.

I used the Krylon Fusion paint as well for my interior. I am really impressed how it came out. I previously used PPG dye for interiors and it showed imperfections alot more. Surface prep is the key, make sure its clean.
