I might be down for that. Let me know what day you're shooting for. I'm still slacking on installing my clutch:toobad:, was thinking about doing it on saturday, but I can hold off until next week.

I may be up ShITTs creek without a paddle if I am not home Saturday after being gone for work all week. Sunday would be better for me, but Saturday may be doable for me. Man.. I really want to turn a wrench too...I may not be able to help myself:sneaky:

You guys notice we haven't heard from Tony? Its because he is going to wait to come on here until he already has bought the gauges, then we can't say crap cause he already got them. I still say these can wait. The cost of the gauges alone will get you a bunch of all that small stuff you need, and maybe something else for it. You saved BIG on the truck already! Remember?

I agree.

Not sure if I'll be coming up this weekend of not. Got my side jobs done for now and my buddy said the garage is still open for now. He suggested i get the t-belt, waterpump ect. done on the spyder while the garage is open so i can list it for sale soon. If i sell it the wife said i can use some of the money towards trans parts that i need and if i could rebuild my spare trans and put it in at the same time as i drop the motor in i will be in good shape:thumb:

If I end up not doing the maintenance stuff on the spyder I'll get a hold of you guys and come up to get my hands dirty.

No one heard from me ### i spent the evening with the most awesome 17month old around. Travis the trans gauge in my dash is a mechanical, no dummy light. And from what i hear is close. I havent orded a thing yet except the fmic and some new work cloths. I kinda enjoy having the cash in the bank. Maybe if i get paid from some of these people that owe me ill be alright. As far as the motor pull, guess thats depending on adam, hes the noob so i want him to do the most! Gotta learn somehow

Give me a call when you guys know what's happening. I need something to do this weekend!!

Thanks to some buddies for stopping by and getting their hands dirty. Got all the maintenance done on the 2G. Another couple small things and a nice bath and wax and i think we'll put her online.

So who's engine is getting pulled at JSI this weekend? Tony's or Adam's? Are you guys shooting for Saturday or Sunday or both to be getting stuff done? Time is running out. MIR opens in less than a week! ..:: Maryland Int'l Raceway  -  Budds Creek, MD  ::..
Capitol too?!

If I stop being lazy and put my clutch in this week, I may do some street tuning on Saturday. If all that goes well I'll drive the car up there to give you guys some inspiration!!!

Don't you dare bring any green DSM up here! :p Just playin..Get that clutch in, and then come down and show us a thing or two on the tuning.

Travis- I guess I'll let Tony chime in on this one. I'd like to plan something sooner than later though..Gotta set it in stone early in the week.:barf: I really am kinda bumbed I didnt get to pull any parts this weekend. It was really nice.

Tuning is fairly easy once you understand how an engine works. I like to tune for no knock, and try to get as close as I can to the MBT without any hiccups. I'm thinking about using the EVO VIII mod-1 timing map for the 16g shooting for about 17-18psi. With the semi-conservative timing, I hope to just add a little fuel and boost to get me to about 300whp on the small 16g. I really just want to enjoy this car, and be able to drive it instead of making gobs of power, and breaking stuff:thumb:.

That a boy Russ, get that thing going. These guys are close, they need to see a well running 1G to light the fire under their asses.

Yeah it was nice this weekend. Yesterday i was in the garage all afternoon/evening with the garage doors open until i heard that stock 7 bolt purring! They run so well when they're stock LOL. I have pretty much all of the parts i need except for my six puck, but i may partner up with my buddy an see about pulling the laser in the garage maybe Tuesday and get that motor ready to come out. I guess i need to line up a cherry picker first. I have a buddy with one, but the garage could use one too ;) It would be good if i had the head off by Thursday so i could run it up to the machine shop and have them deck it on my day off.

We shouldn't rush things, but we need to get some $h*t done!

motor pulls....ordering parts......tuning..... movement in my pants!!!!!!!!!! You guys need to stop its really turning me on! Im down to yank mine whenever, FMIC is off, started unpluging shit, less then a couple hours and mines out, Im down whenever!

Lazy Update: My axles and dp are out.

Lazy Update 1.2: Transfer case is down. I found something that looks like bearing pieces laying at the bottom of the trans....

What's up with the bearing material in your trans? WTF That can't be good.

BTW, i'm drooling over your unsprung 6 puck! :hellyeah:

As for your power goals, I'd like to walk a fine line between making gobs of power and NOT breaking stuff. That's why i don't want to go too over the top, we shall see. If anything is going to happen, it will most likely happen in 2011

I didn't do that!!! That was the 16 year old I got the car from. He had an ebay long-route fmic on it and hacked the bumper to hell, not to mention he tried to glue the bumper to the lights, cause he had no bumper support. :nono:

It looks like the back-side of the release bearing, so I'm willing to bet that it's pretty much non-existent. I have two more trans' to do @work tomorrow, so once I get a chance to drop mine, I'll post pix of that thing.

The clutch looks pretty diesel, very nice quality. I'm hoping to have as much luck as everyone else who has used it for more than 10k. I hate having to pull anything on this car, but since I'm adding to it, it's not that bad after all.

I'm just playing Russ. I'm loving the green.:thumb: What 6 puck did you end up going with? Is it south bend? didnt you usd to have a 30R or a 50 trim or something? Why are you going smaller with the 16g? Spool?

On another note, got bored in my garage and did a half ass mock up of a few things..

The manifold is on a downward lean due to not having it bolted up.

The clutch is XTD stage 4. I was using a pte 3057, external gate, blah, blah. Bearings went up in that, So I went with the s16g just to be able to drive the car. Got it cheap from a buddy of mine. I do love the spool from it though. Sounds like jet taking off.

Russ, gotta love the cheap performance of a 16G. My friend got a big 16g in good shape for like $150 once! I have ran 12.0 with one in a light 1G before. Perfect turbo for daily driving and beating up on some local competition.

Adam, That's what I'm talking about. That's step one in the assembly. Now all you got to do is pull the engine out and bolt that stuff down LOL. Your set up is going to look vicious. True DSM porn.

SHOOTOUT OHIO 2011 OR BUST

Looks like march is a good time to book a hotel room for the shoot out. I hear it books up fast.

You me adam, we sleeping together to save money? i like back side of the spoon! lets get this shit set in stone!

Lazy update #4: My clutch is done. Pedal pressure is making my leg Hulk-like. And there's a problem with my idle. I think the plugs are done from running so rich, so I have some coming tomorrow. Also, my boost controller needs to be relocated, then time for some light tuning.

Oh and, Here was my issue. This was replaced by an OEM one. Enjoy!
