my 1g is pushing about 146k(Still running very strong and the timing belt was changed at about 78k

im not to worried about it i was just curious

well your at 68k, more than recommended, i say change it before summer, and hard driving

Mitsu recommends the t-belt change being done every 60k your 8k over whats the recommended change, if you dont like bent valve I suggest changing it ASAP

Don't just remove your balance shaft belt. This still leaves the Balance Shafts in your car so just "removing the belt" does actually no good personally.

As long as you get it done before 70-75k miles then you will be fine.
