what is the best way to aliviate wheel hop on a fwd turbo car???? i know about the prothane motor mounts and i already have kyb gr-2s on the car but is there anything else i can do???

Well i eliminated wheel hop completely on my car. First off i got sticky tires but not too sticky. I went with Kumho Ecsta 712's in 215/50/16. Then i got H&R sport springs which are 1.7 in the front and 1.4 in the rear which helps shift more weight to the front of the vehicle planting it on the ground better. Finally i got a bm lsd insert to top it off. My car hooks better than it ever has before but i still spins wildly in first gear and partially through 2nd, but i have no wheel hop at all.... I just learned to slip the clutch throught first and i get great launches.....

1. Learn to launch your car better.
This is probably the cheapest way of fixing your problem, plus you'll learn more about your car in the process.

2. If you've got extra $$ laying around, get a Kazz LSD.
This clutch type differential will put your power down much more evenly and efficiently.

3. Get wide and sticky tires.
This will help stick the contact patch on the ground, while "getting up on the tire." The phrase "getting the car up on the tires" means that when the car is motionless, and suddenly the tires are shocked with power, there is a delay in forward motion of the car, because of tire sidewall distorion, or tire sidewall flex, as the tire has to "get up" first, in order to finally transmit the power to the ground. If you watch the tires on powerful RWD drag cars using big sticky drag slicks, you'll see the tire distort and squat the car, before the car really starts moving foward.

4. Run 19 psi on the 2 fronts (when drag racing only).
This will increase your contact patch slightly, and also increse the time it takes for the car to "get up" on the tires.

When your wheel hop occurs, there are fractions of a second where the two front tires are in mid-air, (NOT A GOOD THING), thus the tires aren't smoothly applied when they have gotten up, and rather send the car air-born, like a slingshot. This is a VERY slow way of getting off the line.

I hope some of this helps.

ummm, fwd's have lsd. We have a center differential just like the awd but our cars didn't come stock with lsd. You can either get an insert from bm or phantom grip or just buy the whole differential from Kaaz or Quafie. Many fwd cars come stock with lsd. For instance the integra type r or the neon srt-4.... OMG
