What's wrong with my cd player?

It just started two days ago. Whenever I try to put a cd into the stock infinity headunit the thing does nothing. It says no disc when i go to 'cd' setting. And everytime I turn the car on the motor in the player that ejects the cd turns on and runs for 5 seconds. I hate listening to the radio, help me.

But I just spent my money on a Evo 3 16g, injectors, safc and fuel pump. It'll be a month before i have any cash.

Does it take the disc in?

do you have the stock 10 disk changer in the bank compartment area? if so push the cd button again and see if it works, it might just need some cleaning? good luck man

It doesn't suck the disc in. I can shove a disc in and it won't do anything, then I can hit the eject button and it will come out.

The remote start for my car stopped working at about the same time. Could that have something to do with it?

That's interesting. I that the stereo is tied into all sorts of wierd things. My friends tsi wont let the interior lights work if the stereo is removed. I would suggest that you check your fuses and the wiring. See if anything is loose or blown.

i dont think the remote start has anything to do with your cd player not playing cd's, it sounds to me like the motor is fried if its not sucking the cd in, i dont know what to say man i guess just either buy another stock deck or upgrade like the other guy said
