stock 1g cd player...wuts wrong ?

Ok i got the oem cd player from a 94 GS turbo and put it into my 93 TSI. i changed it from my equalizer one to the cd player becuz the rear speakers wouldnt work anymore and now they do but it seems like every bump i hit the speakers cut out. Lose wires in the back? plug ins? also the cd player doesnt really read...it just says E when it turns on. is there something i can do to try to reset it or what? plz help cuz i can't really afford an aftermarket at this time due to the whole Timing belt and head gasket thing. trying to save money to redo it again.

my guess is that the cd player is over 11 years old. if the speakers go out when you hit a bump than it sounds like you have a loose wire some where or the deck is cuttion out. if i was you i would really just spend like 50-75 and buy a really cheap deck it would save the headack but if you are trying to save money just check all your connections good luck.
