Whats Wrong With My Car???

Well heres your problem, those number are horrible. Are you leaking any oil, or going through oil? Leaking coolant or going through coolant? Check the oil for coolant. Any smoke out the tailpipe?

COOLANT:not enough to tell OIL:ALOT!!!! im not sure were it comes from, i think from the dipstick, and i have oil in the intake if i take off the cupler, and i took the intercooler out to clean it about a month ago and it had about 1/4 or a qaurt of oil in the bottom of it?? SMOKE FROM TAIL PIPE:LOL, if you noticed in the video, my car is loud and sounds like a tractor LOL, so all the smoke you see IS coming from the tail pipe, just at were its broken off........so i was think somwere along the lines of a new motor.... or rings and head? idk, im only 16 LOL

So you have low coolant? What is your oil level on the dipstick.

From your compression number sit looks like a blown head gasket or a messed up head. See if you can have a leak down test done.

If there is coolant leaking into your oil though (high and green oil) then it's a blown head gasket.

If you had a quart of oil in your intercooler, chances are you have a blown turbo. Did you just buy the car? What's the background? The smoke under the hood is probably an exhaust leak. A blown turbo WILL cause massive amounts of smoke to come out of the tailpipe. Also, have someone look at your engine asap. 55 compression is extremely low.

From reading your post, you have alot of work to do.

If your compression is that terrible, you must ask yourself what could be causing this?
Timing? No, all cylinders are affected if your timing belt is wrong.
Rings? unlikely on a DSM
Valves? this is more likely, over revving can slap the valves.

This time pour 3 caps of oil (standard caps) into the spark plug holes, then get us the compression numbers again.

Your compression will be higher with the oil, but it will allow for the rings to seal better on a older motor.

Get back to us with the results.

i bought it last october, and still havent even put 500 miles on it, the smoke under the hood IS and exhaust leak (its missing a bolt from the O2 to the turbo) and its also IS the dipstick, it smokes out the dip stick ALOT if i take it out....now out the tail pipe, it only smokes really bad when i first start it, and if i get into high boost it starts smoking BAD......

can i just unhook my wastgate, and then start it, wont that tellme if my turbo is bad???

and also after i drive it for like ten min. , when i open the hood, theres OIL EVERYWERE!!! and its soaking my brandnew $100 alternator, so i need somthing fixed,....im not driving it at the time, until i fix it, so any help would be awesome........ill get another video when i get home from school, of the amount of smoke coming from my dip stick:banghead: it makes me MAD...LOL

No. Remove your intake and check the compressor wheel for shaft play. THIS IS WITH THE CAR OFF! Wiggle the center section up and down, left and right, and in and out. A little play in the shaft is ok, but something tells me you will have quite a bit of movement. ANY in and out movement is not good. Basically, when your oil seals go bad on the turbo, it starts letting oil into the intake tube. This lack of lubrication destroys the turbo and causes the shaft to start to have some play.

You may have a bad crank seal. That would cause oil to be everywhere, especially on the alternator. Plan on buying a new alternator. (ask me how I know)

I would say the same. I think eaither you have a leaky valuve or bad rings on the cyclinder with 55 compression id say its time for a tear down

ok, i took off the intake tube and wiggled the fan thingy... UP AND DOWN: a little SIDE TO SIDE: a little IN AND OUT: a little as well :banghead: so basiclly i need a new turbo cause it has a little in and out?....... idk, it spools up fine...i can still push up to 22lbs..:hmm: but thats not the part that scares me as much as my compression and the crank case seal....... im pretty sure im going to need new rings..... (cause i have 55lbs in one) is there any way to up your compression with out taking it apart??? somone told me to pour a couple caps of oil in my cylinders...... will that help my rings in the long run to?

I saw that your profile says that your 14b is pushing out 25psi?? You probably blew up your motor, especially with a 2gmaf and no compensation (not even injectors) you were probably running really lean and blew it.

EDIT: Just watched the video and saw that you don't have a 2gmaf, but 25psi is still way too much w/out supporting mods.

unfortunitly i agree.. :( i thought my boost gauge was broken, then i checked on vfaq and its all right..... well, live and learn, any pointers for my next victom engine??? (by the way, with the 25lbs, in limp mode it was VERY VERY quick for my first car.....) THANKS LOL

A cylinder compression of 55 psi indicates broken rings. One of the cylinders is experiencing severe "blowby". Most likely that is why smoke is coming out of the dipstick filler tube.
This engine is up for a rebuild.

Wanna sell your car?

LOL, not at the moment...wanna help rebuild my engine LOL...jk, but no really i cant sell my car at this point of time, because theres LONG story on the title.....pm for more, i dont want to get bi**hed for talking on THIS type of fourm or w/e LOL
