I purchased my 98 gst with this problem and i was wonder what you guys think it might be. When i go to push in the clutch i have to push it alll the way to the floor in order for it to shift nice and smooth. The slave cylinder has pressure its just if i push the clutch down 80% of the way it wont shift or even 90% it has the be all the way to the floor. I know with crankwalk symptoms are shifting problems, but i have no other signs of crankwalk symptoms so i figure its just something wrong with maybe my slave cylinder or anything that hooks up to the clutch pedal that disengages the clutch. What do you guys think it is ?

The car is 100% Stock

you may have a bad cyclynder, it may still hold pressure but not distribute or you could check fluids. also could be that the clutch needs to be tightened or replaced.

i havent tried adjusting anything yet, i dont know much about the 4g63, i just got the car like a week half ago so im not to familiar with the engine yet.

When I first bought my car I had the same problem... clutch engaged RIGHT off of the floor..Simple fix..

Loosen the lock nut on the adjuster rod and you'll be able to rotate the rod by hand. If getting the right free play off the floor makes it so that you loose the free play at the top of the pedal travel, you will need to adjust the upper travel stop. The upper travel stop is the cruise control switch...Rotate the rod out more so your pedal pushes in farther
