my question is pretty much the title ......why remove the O2 sensor? wont you ecu act up and stuff?

The bung from the housing is no longer on the new one.. the down pipe should now have a bung close to the flange that connects the Downpipe with the housing. The reason people do this is because an aftermakret piece will flow much better then a stock one or even a ported stock one. Another option on an 02 eliminator is a dump tube that dumps the wastegate gases to the atmosphere. You have probably heard this noise on some vids.. when the car goes into WOT it sounds like a fire extinguisher
