Whats the point in relocating the alternator?

So, i'm most likely going to take out the a/c in the car, and i've seen relocating kits for the alternator to place it where the a/c compressor is (if i am correct) but i dont seen the difference in moving it from its current position.

It seems very inconvenient if you need to get to it. I think the sole purpose is to get it away from the heat of the o2 housing and downpipe.

A benefit of having it relocated, yes. Many will go this route to allow the use of a larger frame turbo that will need a sewer pipe exiting the turbine

We use the Jay Racing rear mount on our 2G race car along with a Saturn alternator. If you don't need to run a 4" downpipe I would not do it. We have a lot of problems with the now long belt that runs both the water pump and PS coming off at 10,000 rpm. The Saturn alternator on the other hand is one of the best things ever when it comes to DSM electrical systems.

Well...What they said was right, makes room for a sewer pipe exhaust.

Or, Deleting Powere steering, A/C, and relocating the Alternator along with the ignition coils being relocated make the engine bay look very clean, then along with a wire tuck behind and under the intake manifold, just makes it look barebones as hell....

Ive considered doing all that stuff to my DD, but I already have too many problems with my motor as it is...We did all this to my buddies car and it looks terrible though because his block is nasty painted and trannys but ugly, and you can see the whole thing. LOL

oh ok, im planning to toss the a/c. i never use a/c in the summer, and if it breaks or a hose or something is bad, its not cheap to replace, and its just one more thing to worry about breaking on the car. But without it there, there is no worries. thanks for the imputs.
