About a week ago I was at AMS in Arlington Heights IL talking them about the best path to take with my fwd Talon. They gave me some ideas but suggested I talk to someone here. They gave me a specific name, I believe it was Mike but I could be wrong. They said he has an extremely fast fwd DSM and would be able to help me out.

If this person they speak about could help out that would be great. Here is what is done to the car. The motor is fully built with: Eagle Rods, Ross pistons 8.5:1, Supertech valves and dual valve springs, HKS 272 intake and exhaust, Fidenza cam gears, SBR fmic, HKS bov (recirculated), ACT 2600 clutch and pressure plate with resurfaced flywheel, a fluidyne radiator, a walbro 255 fuel pump, RC 550 injectors, 2g mas, and a AFCII not yet tuned (I'm on a waiting list)

Where I am most curious is, what should I do next as far as suspension and trans goes in order to get this car to really hook up well. I do plan for bigger power and fast times later on down the road after I learn on this level first. Thanks for the help.

what turbo are you/planning on running?
What are your goals with the car?(daily driver?)

Its hard to answer your question with knowing this stuff first but as far as suspension if you have the money go with some coilovers so you can adjust them to your liking.
The best bang for the buck for your trans would be an lsd. The real ones are around a $1000 i think and the "fake" ones like sbr are like 150.

Definately some LSD, if you got a fwd, and then for suspension , I would personally spend more omney and get the good stuff, something like tien coilovers... if its just a track car, then you can get lowering kits, but if its a daily driver, you can get adjustable springs...

I'm not quite sure as to what turbo I will be going with in the future. I still have to/want to discuss that with AMS. Right now I'm sticking with the 16g I have in it. As far as daily driven vs strictly track, my goal was to do a track car that can be driven to the track if I wanted.

I was looking at the Tein but what would you guys recomend as far as traction bars, strut bars, sway bars etc. I'm looking into every component to get power to the ground.

Lastly, concering the trans, I was going to go with a Shep tranny with a good lsd. But some have recomended that since 4th gear in the manual trans is weak that I should go with an auto tranny or a dog box that way I don't break as much and I'll be more consistent (especially with the auto)

by track do you mean strictly drag strip?
If there is any autocrossing or anything like that your probably going to want at minimum coilovers and sway bars. Strut bars and additional bracing will help a little but the best bang for the buck is sway bars.

Please dont get a auto trans...takes all the fun out of driving what you invested in. IMO

Yes, this will be a strictly 1/4 mile car. "I live my life one 1/4 mile at a time" LOL just kidding but in all seriousness there will be not Auto X or anything just drag
