What's that worst thing that happened to you when you got your DSM?

i had a 1995 RS and while i was saving up to trade it in and get my 1998 GSX i had a lady in a van switch lanes with out looking and ran me into a curb. she said that she didnt see me so therefore it wasnt her fault:rolleyes: gotta love mass drivers. i also hit a deer(car was fine just broke my liscence plate) in the rs and had another lady back up into me and blame it on me:confused:

now with the GSX its been brokin into so now the drivers side window has issues going up and down. theres been other issues with the GSX just from moddin it but i still love it
 
Well in my '91 RS, I drove home one night and it ran just fine. Started it up the next Day to go get myPaycheck and it is running like someone cut one of the plug wires. Replaced the plugs and wires, still run like ass, tested the distributer and it failed. Replaced the distributer and still no changes. Finally gaveup and took it to a shop. The water pump had gone out, and it leaked antifreeze all over the balanceshaftbelt which disinegrated it and a piece gotstuck in the timing belt and though it off about 9 degrees retarded. Cost me $600 for that fix. And in the GSX, 4 days after I bought and put in a new clutch, I'm headed backout to work after lunch and the transaxle locks up. Lucky cause I wass in a 30 and if I had gone much farther would have been doing 70mph. That could have been fun. $800 and 10 hours later I have the new transaxle in. Didn't know at the time that it was under recall. I found how nice it was that a Mitsubishi dealer ship had no idea about or just didn't bother to tellme so they could be $800 richer.:rolleyes:
 
2 weeks after i got my car i had the clutch go out on me then i replaced 3 belts and the brakes while i was at it. alright that was done and over with. then a year later my car gets stolen, completly striped on the inside, had to relpace the dash to the concols , that sucked. ok so i have my car back and it's almost back to normal. that's when i decided that my licence plates had to go, sence they were 666-kpv that's why all the crap happend im thinking, so those plates are in closet.
oh yeah why do dsm happen to be eye catchers to theives.:mad:

I have a long list of things that went wrong on my car. Well first off I had to go and replace 2 lug stems, one was missing from the back and one was broken off in the front ($52bucks), then thought my waterpump was bad so go to have that and valve cover gasket and thermostat put on. Guy calls me up says my plug wires are drenched in oil and one is correded really bad and that I have to have a new idler pulley and I had ALL new belts ($546) on that. Then my radiator whole bottom sill of it rusted and leaking in 2 spots, used like 9 gallons of antifreeze before it got fixed and it costed me $132bucks there. Had a slow leak in the back tire so that had to be plugged. Now I have a like constant click, pop noise in the right wheel when I turn left debating on if its the bearing or CV joint or something and going to need some new plugs since I havent changed those on the car since I've owned it myself. Had to have the the exhaust pipe b/c it rusted in the middle in half and made the car very loud and had 2 holes as well in the pipe which was about $109.

I lack 1500 left on my load before to have this car paid off. As much as I spent I could have had at least it down to around 800dollars left. But thats all for now that has gone wrong and just today I had my belts tighten up and air pressure checked in the tires so now it runs good.
 
I was driving around and my CV joint broke. So my front right tire just collapsed on me. Good thing I wasn't driving fast. Also the dealer paid for everything since it was a recall.
 
...the fact that i cant drive it...

I lost my license for *UNKNOWINGLY* driving without insurance. i had a deal with my mom...if i paid for all of my car ($1800), she would pay my insurance till i was 18. one time she had the check ready to hand to the insurance company and then she had to leave work early an emergency meeting (she works for the state gov.), so she couldnt turn it in, cuz they locked the doors in her building after everyone went to the meeting...turns out my insurance was cancelled 5 hours before some ####### hit me. he still had to pay for my car, and my hospital bill (seperated and broke my collarbone from the racing harness locking up so quick), but now i have no license till the last week of february.

also, i was rallying my car in my backyard in the snow about a week ago, and my right front tire went flat...i was like WTF??? i didnt hit anything, there is nothing on the frozen ground that would have popped it. i THINK the pressure in it was low anyway, and when i U'ied with the E-brake, it just released the rest of the air...

OH...and I got ticking lifters...:thumb:
 
well i got everyone beat. the first 2 months i had my car i drove it home and my mom ran over the hood, when i got back i put in the shop to get the body work done a kit cusom paint @carbon fiber hood well it took 9 months to get him to do the work i had to take him to cort. exactly one year lter i went back to my moms house for cristmas again nothing happened when i pulled in the base at camp lejune i was at a ligt and some one wasnt paying attentionand ran in the back of me going 65 pushing me in the car in front of me. so i put it in another shop they fixed it i spent 13,000 custom candy paint every thing you can think of i put it on. the same night i got it out i was drin=ving ti my moms house in FL and an 18 wheeler blew a tire in front of me and i couldnt move so i ran it over and it ripped my back bumper off.. so im sitting on the side of 95 south at 12am no tools and a back bumper on the ground so i put in the back and kept going with my hatch open allthe way to FL going about 45mph it sucked. when i got back to the base then every thing started going wrong w/my engine one after another for about a year every week it was back in the shop finaly i got it fixed again and spun a bering a week later my wifes car spun a bering so i said f*** it i took out a loan and maxed out my credit card and redid every thing its almost finised hopefuly no more problems:dsm: :thumb:
 
Check this out. I bought a 90 GSX the day after I bought it the clutch went. I bought the car as is so no dealer help. When the shop got it all apart there was only one bolt holding on the tranny, I had a cracked axle ,slave cylinder was bad. $1196 later I drive the car out of the shop and the alternator dies. I replace the alternator and the starter dies on me. My downpipe is cracked on the all factory exhaust. Plus, I have an oil leak from the oil return line. I still haven't made a car payment. Oh and leaky powersteering.
 
When I first got mine I had never drove a stick before so that sucked going home. Then two days later front oil seal was leaking. Got that fixed through warenty. A week later one of the IC pipes came off fixed that no big deal. Then a week after that some one ran into the back of me. He payed for a new rear bumper. But now she is fixed and running fine.

Well where do i start....
First month i have mine...clutch goes out...get it replaced with a stage1 clutchmaster disk..that goes out 2 months later get it replaced with a stage 3 clutchmaster disk (come to find out that it was faulty instal BOTH times) had another place look at it, they replace the master and slave...but forgot to adjust the clutch rod (going into the master) ...which ones that pressure builds up if you slam your foot down to "force" that clutch pedal in you WILL break lots of stuff...all this was fixed.
NEXT im driving along (about 1.5yrs owned car) and the BOV makes this crazy noise and i get no boost! the damn plastic BOV cap "Blew Off" ironic?
not to long after that my balance shaft belt breaks...well i had no clue other than i was replacing alternator belts every other week...fixed again.

NEXT my clutch starts losing pressure...im thinking "NOT AGAIN" come to find out while stranded an hour an a half away...there is a pin sized hole in my clutch line...
NOW the fun stuff...
FIRST my turbo seals go bad...car starts smoking...t25 fries itself...so i replace it with a big 16g....ONE WEEK LATER my engine spins a rod bearing and i crack the head....
6 mons later after a few problems with the rebuild the car is up and running again and i HOPE to keep it that way...h@ll im scared to even race the beast now!!!

Y'all are scaring the cheesly sh!t out of me...

Anyway, I got married on a Saturday. The Monday of that week, I had all four wisdom teeth extracted, so I spent most of the rest of the week looking like a chipmunk. Friday, the day before the wedding, I went to have the stiches from my teeth extractions removed. Not less than 45 seconds from the house, some damn fool is following so close to a huge white van that he disappears behind it, and thinking the way is clear, I pull out in front of him.

He hit my '90 Laser RS dead center and head on. The impact annihilated the car from the windshield forward. Fortunately for me, the car kept me in one piece, save for a scratched little finger. No more car, though, and I got married the next day with whiplash.

Worst thing? My next car was an '86 Mercury Cougar.
 
for me lets see. I had the car for almost a week. I was on the freeway coming home from sacramento I was doing about 80 my normal speed and my transfercase goes out on me. That was the scaryest thing that has happened to me other then the time i hydroplained on the freeway across 4 lanes of traffic.
 
1hr after I picked up my car some a$$hole dinged my fender with his car door. :mad: Needless to say I dinged his right back (with my foot of course):shhh: Bastards...........damn.............still makes me mad...........damn.............. I think I'll go outside and beat something with a hammer...............:rolleyes:
 
Man, you guys have had some major engine problems! Damn. The worse thing was having an ex-girlfriend hurl a brick at my windshield. Man, try blocking a brick with ur forearm. I barely got out of her apt complex. Because she drives a celica gts, that chick was crazy. I don't even know why I ever called her in the first place. Oh yeah, and autos do haul ass.
 
Dolemite44, I don't know if it died, but I hit the damn thing at like 50 mph, so I would assume that it did. Bastard.
 
The night I got my car, I went home and all my buddies came to see it. And my best friend wanted to drive it. So, me being a dumbass said ok. We were just driving along, and there was a rock in the road about the size of a basball. And the dumb son of a b1tch hit it. So I ended up with a hole in the sidewall of the tire that you could stick your finger in. But, it costed him $170 for a new one, and I got to drive around on my donut for a week.
 
2nd day i had my car the oil pump failed and seized my whole motor, 4k dollar repair, 2 weeks after that radiator went and tps.. since than i have rebuilt tranny.. and been hit on driver's side fender hit and run style.. there is a black cloud on my car
 
O.K., I think I have you all beat. I rescued my car from the junkyard a buddy of mine works for. It's a 91 Talon tsi all wheel drive that didn't run and they were just gonna crush it so I went and grabbed it. Turns out all it needed was a computer. Sounds good right? Well, start driving, car cuts out over 5,000 rpm.
:confused: O.K., give it a complete tune up and do all the free mods. Still cuts out ? Well, now the clutch starts slipping. Least of my worries right? Check for boost leaks, nothing. Pull timing belt cover, belt looks chewed. O.K., change t-belt, balance shaft belt, and water pump. Still cuts out? . Same night I finish t-belt job I get up on the highway and play with my buddies 81 malibu. I finally pass him, but now there is a HUGE cloud of smoke billowing out of the car. What did I do wrong? Nothing. I pull the head to see, snapped half a valve head off and punched a hole in the waterjacket. O.K., now I need a clutch and a head. So I pull the motor and tranny. Fixed all that, still cuts out :confused: . Put in aftermarket boost gauge, I almost sh!t myself, 20psi on a stock 14b!?! . The stock gauge only read 13psi (note to self, never trust stock gauge). Wastegate actuator stuck the whole time. OMG Hey, I'm new at this whole turbo thing. Fixed that, only now after swallowing all that antifreeze the rings in the motor are wiped out. I add a quart and a half of oil with every tank of gas. While I am pondering my next move I am at the bank when the plow guy backs into me and caves in my 1/4 panel :mad: . Luckily, I knew the appraiser and he didn't total the car. Plus I work in a bodyshop so I make some money. So, right now the car is at my work all apart and the 85k mile replacement motor is waiting to go in. Here we go again! I'm thinking orange... Anyhow, sorry for the long post but I wanted to see if I had the worst luck yet as this has all been over the course of the last 3 months!! P.S. I love my DSM, really I do :cool:
