I have a 2g with a big 16g pushing 18 pounds. im running 450cc injectors... where should i set my knobs on my translator box or MAFT so it will be a good tune for that boost.... If anyone has this injectors and pushing that boost and have a MAFT... I would apreciate it if you help... i set them up like my friend had them on a 2g with 16 pounds and 450cc injectors but he didnt have a wideband and i just want to compare them to other peoples tune...

Every car is a little different. Generally you tune using your A/F ratios. Do you have a wideband installed on the car? Under WOT, you'd want to shoot for a low 11 A/F ratio. I've heard of people leaning it out to 12.... but that's pushing on the "too lean" side and wouldn't recommend it.

Honestly I wouldn't start messing with tuning until you have something to log with. You also might want to consider upgrading the fuel system. Just my .02 cents.

Like 95talongirl already said you need something to log with and you need to upgrade your fuel system. Those 450's with the big 16g running at 18psi ain't gonna be enough injector. :nono: Also every car is different, so even if there was another car with your exact same mods they would still require different settings/tune.

If you got everything stock then leave it on stock settings. I use a gen2 with a lm-1, and the afr tracking is nice. Even though I'm on the old mas it still needs some adjusting for the fuel trims to be right, from the output differences of the translator.

Which maft do you have. Pushing that many pounds of boost on those injectors is going to melt your pistons.

the problem is that i have been trying to get the boost down forever... i changed the waste gate to one of a 1g and it was for 9psi and its still boosting 18psi.... now that i put the translator box on it im also getting a fluttering noise out of the turbine and im getting air pushing out of there... sounds like the BOV but its not from the BOV but from the turbine... i checked for boost leak and i dont have any and my BOV is fine... its working.... i would think that the turbo is no good but it doesn't smoke and it doesn't have any play on the shaft... AND I HAVE A 2G TRANSLATOR. I BELIEVE VERSION 2.02

The fluttering is compressor surge. Its a good start to breaking things, mildly put. Either you dont have your BOV vacuum line hooked up in the right place or its adjusted too stiff. And i think you have a problem with whatever boost control method you may be having. Leak test you lines to make sure. Its never a bad idea.

What are your current knob settings at? With 450's, you should have the scaling for "Base 2, Aux 4." I highly recommend getting a logger/WB to self-tune your open-throttle settings, otherwise, you need to take your car for a brief dyno tune [in which case you might as well toss in some supporting mods beforehand].

The translator has a wide range for tunability, and I find that a MAF-T/AFC combo makes it a HELL of a lot easier unless you extended the wires into the cabin.

i have it set... base 4... aux=2... idle=2 and wot=E.... does that look good...????

Myself and others cannot judge your settings without any point of reference. Purchase or borrow a logger at the least as previously suggested so that you are not "blindly tuning." You might be surprised to see high IPW and timing yanked since a 16G most definitely outflows a T25.

well i got some good news... i got the car to stop spooling up to 17 pound by changing the waste gate actuator and it doesn't have have the noise coming out of the turbine anymore... but i still have to tune it.... im getting a wide band and hopefully tune it this week...:thumb:

Sounds like you need to check your exhaust gaskets. Did you use metal gaskets, or the lead coated ones? I'd check my turbo bolts also, when I hear noises like that, I always find a turbo bolt loose.

i have all metal gaskets and i checked for all that when i put the new actuators on.... but now i have a different problem. after i changed the actuator it doesn't start spooling until around 4500 or 5000 rpm and i think its running too rich before that rpm... its acts like its going to turn off and then the turbo spools up and its fine... but it sucks when im trying to drive normal.... is it possible to run super rich on stock 450cc???
