i have a g1 in a g2 car. well i don't know what happened but my car was over heating i was all mmost and and then from what seemed to be a blown head gasket? who knows what happened but the head is wrapped. i don't know if the head has anything done to it but the valve springs i know the motor is built good . idk if there is bigger valve is it worth get getting a new head? what made it over heat? there was not thremo in it? would have that been the problem? HELP me

ps. this is a j spec motor so would i need a j spec head? confused:(
 
Are you losing coolant or just overheating? Do you "smell" antifreeze when downwind from your car? You have to have a thermostat to control your temp. It won't achieve proper closed loop status without a thermostat. Is it overheating going down the road or only when sitting still idling? Let's get this problem solved before you start just yanking the head. Do you see white smoke from your tail pipe while going down the road?

Answer these questions and perhaps we can pinpoint the problem.

well here is the deal i didn;t a HG about month ago on my car everything was great well it overheated alittle nothing much only need to get to work and home and a few palaces around town nothing big. well it got worse as time went on! welll coming back from a day of wakeboarding down at the boat house the car started to get hot and then the temp. gauge would go down no big deal really. well i figuredn almost home now so just keep going will on the way there the car shut off tried starting it and white smoke so i knew thw HG was blown AGAIN!!!!! well it was about 1/8 mile to the house we aboutn 30 feet away the car shut off and wouldn';t start motor was really hot by then. well it would crank but now start . so i had to get my other car (GST) to take someone home real quick so did that went back to the car well this time it would crank but no compression? well got the car home knew the HG was gone so took the head off the car got a straight rule and a feeler gauge checked it look wrapped from that veiw. now the head is shaved and really to put back on after having ti shaved there is still about .004 in with the feeler gauge? not shaved enough? i don;t know on that part well where do i go from here?
 
smell yea but that was from the overflow??? last post will explain white smoke? was no thremo now there is would that make it over heat?
