what to do wastegate set up

Ok so here the deal I just got a b16g brandnew mhi. Now it doesn't look like my flapper is covering the hole completely . It almost looks like its ported too much. Now I would like to go holset either now or later and run an external wastegate . My Mods are up to date . Now I may run the b16g or get a holset either way I want to go external . With that being said I have an evo3 manifold and would like to get a flange welded on . What materal flange do I need ? Route number two would be external off the o2 but using a five bolt down pipe flange and a wastegate flange which I would then run my exhaust to underneath the pan back to a flex ect. With that all being said I'm low on finds right now and my cheapest best idea I can think of would be to run an ewg off the manifold and weld the flapper door shut . I know this has been beaten to death and I have searched but haven't come up with any conclusion to what materal flange to weld onto the cast manifold . I know all about the welding to cast crap and how its a pain in the ass so I don't need to hear that . I'm simply asking about the materal and which set up would be cheaper. Either way I will go holset so an external is a must one way or another . If anyone is actually interested in the b16g I will be interested in trading it for a holset or selling it

If you can find a cast pipe close to the thickness of your manifold that would Be best because different metals expansion rates are different. But thick steel will do fine
