I need your advice. I have a friend from Maryland that is going to be going to SF, She will be staying in the Union Square area. She asked me what there is to do and I told her I would find out. I have never been to SF, but I am sure you can help me out. She will be interested in the Bar and night life primary but things to do during the day would be cool too. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. I will send her the link to this post in a while. Thanks again.

well as far as the bar seen goes I am not too familiar with it(since I am only 20) BUT tell her to go to broadway and columbus there are a ton of clubs at that intersection and all up and down both streets. There are always tons of people there so I could only imagine it would be pretty fun. as far as day time uh...well there are tons of tourist sites to visit. She can head over to the golden gate, alcatraz, fishermans warf/peir 39, embarcadero, union square, geradelis(sp?) square, many museums around the city. If she is willing to drive she could drive down to halfmoon bay/santa cruz. I don't know how the weather is going to be but I just thought I would throw up some suggestions.

Vesuvio in North Beach on Columbus just south of Broadway, Chinatown on Grant two blocks west, The Cliff House out where Geary hits the sea, Lincoln Park, The Palace of the Legion of Honor, a boat ride out to Alcatraz, Pier 39, Fisherman's Wharf, Ghirardelli Square, Lombard Street, Carribean Zone down south of Market, the Ferry Building, Market Street, The Sunset Distict, the Presidio, Fort Point, Cafe Trieste at Vallejo and Grant, Bimbo's on Columbus, Coit Tower, Chrissy Field, the Golden Gate Bridge, The palace of Fine Arts (and the Exploratorium there), Marina Green, The Castro, Filmore Auditorium, Polk Street, Irving Street, Sutro Heights, Golden Gate Park, the Steinhart Aquarium, the Haight, and that'd get her through the first year.

What Defiant said, then take her to any one of the thousands of clubs in the city and THEN! THEN! MAKE SURE! Take her to the Steps of Rome cafe (not the restaurant) after clubbing. It's on Columbus... on a Saturday night you will not be disappointed. Great place.

Damn Zach you're only 20?

Walk thru the hotels in Las Vegas, they each offer something unique that you can see walking around the inside, whether it be a garden, or as with the Bellagio, a multi million dollar glass flower display on the roof. The pools in most are excellent :) Check the water display at the Bellagio. There are tons of shows playing at all the different hotels, magic shows, strip shows, w/e, its ALL in Las Vegas. Just remember, "What happens in Las Vegas stays in Las Vegas".. :nono: ROFL

Los Vegas
1.don’t rent a car if you need to get around on the strip!
2. we went to that big aquarium, cant remember which place it was, but it was very interesting.
3 hit the roller coasters if you like that sort of thing
4 the water display at the bellagio are pretty cool. As well as the volcano one, but I was fairly drunk by the time we made it past there:)
5 hoover dam is pretty cool if your in to the engineering thing, well it was good for me.

Watch Ocean's Eleven several times before going so you know what to expect. ;)

Don't forget the pirate show right next to the volcano!

When you're in San Francisco definitely hit up the Castro St/District. Dress for hot weather while there. ;)

Check out the waterfront area near pier 39. There are some neat shops around there and some good food. I haven't been to Alcatraz in forever, but I imagine that would be a pretty cool way to spend a couple hours. Point Raise is also kinda cool.

No more pirate show.

Go see Hoover Dam near "LAS" Vegas

and don't call San Francisco "Frisco", the San Franciscans hate it.
