What thermostat to buy?????

i am buyen a thermo stat for my 98 GSX, now can i buy a 180 degree's all i have is intake &BOV? or stick w/ stock?? and what is stock.., 197???

Buy the 180* Tstat. It will do just fine for you with your mods. Make sure you get a Tstat gasket also when you do the install.

Gas milage will depend more on driving habits than Tstat Temp. Example, My car had the stock Tstat in it from 1991 till last yr.(190*) It finally failed and I replaced it with a 180* one. Before the 180* Tstat install my car got 21mpg city/highway, after the install of the 180* Tstat and a bunch of performance upgrades(see mod list) I still get 21mpg city/highway with nearly double the flywheel horsepower as stock.
