What size socket for oil pan plug?

SOrry if this is a stupid newbie question, I'm gonna change my oil tomorrow and wanted to know what size socket to use on the bolt to get the oil out of the oil pan...

Couldnt you just use trial and error? Also, do you have a repair manual yet? It would tell you in there and if you dont have 1 yet then you need to get one. Chilton is the one i have.

17mm socket or wrench.

also its a good thing to have 6 point sockets and wrenchs for this type of thing. And yes its 17mm.
