What Should My Next Car Be???

Hey guys, as you can probably tell from the title I’m in the market to buy a new/slightly used car. I am currently driving a 99 Eclipse GS but I have experienced way too many problems and am now looking for a little nicer and better quality car. I have narrowed the field down to about 4-5 cars.

1) Acura RSX-Type S
2) Lexus IS300
3) Nissan 350Z
4) Audi TT (225hp Turbo)
5) BMW Z3

If you have and information or “IMO” regarding the cars please feel free to share. I am planning on buying with in the next month or two and I have a little over 26k I’m willing to blow. Also if there is not a car on the list that you think should be, feel free to let me know. Thanks guys.

What's wrong with 300zx's? I'm lookin to sell my Camaro and get a new car... was seriously considering a 300.

your probably lookin at 10-15K minimum if you want a decent one w/ reletively low miles and not beat to shit...i think 300zx's take the worst beating than any other car ive ever seen

based on looks, and performance counted evenly, my list would be:

G35 coupe (the 4 door is lame)
WRX Sti
Supra Mk VI
Lan EVO VIII <----- Yes, i said evo 8! an extra 40 ponies cant hurt! just you wait
RX-7 (need I say what gen?)
IS300
IS330 <--- due in about 6 months?
350Z

flame me if you want, but the IS is looking just a tad dated compared to some of the other cars of the same age.

He said he wants a luxary car. A WRX STI and an EVO do NOT fall into that category. If your willing to spend 26k, want luxary, performance, and good looks all combined together with a nice AWD system just get a 2000-2002 Audi S4. Chip and exhaust on that thing will get you into the low/mid 13's easily, which is enough for most people. Last I checked you should be able to pick a nice one up for right around 26k as wel.

If you get Audi it has to be S4 Avant. Throw some BBS LM wheels on it and it's pure sex on wheels. Also BMW 540i is worth looking into.

If you look at his first list only 2 of the 3 would be luxury so I figure am EVO would be about the same placement as an Audi TT.

For the price of an S4 and all of the money it cost for those chips and upgrades he is well over the price. Those cars have WAAAAYY overpriced compared to most. Unless he does some BARGIN shopping. There are EVO's going for 22k right now, there is your 13sec car with money to burn.

Hey guys, thanks again for all the advice. You've really helped me narrow the selection down quite a bit. As of now the z3 is out and taking its place would be the g35. I know the G35 and 350z is basically the same car but they do have some minor differences. Like the Z is only a 2-seater where the G35 is a 4-seater, the Z has about 8-10hp on the G35, and a few styling details. The Audi TT to me seems way too overpriced but I do like the looks, the awd turbo combination, and the fact that not a lot of people drive them/mod them. I’m not sure if that last part is a good or a bad thing though. If someone could please give me a little more info on the downside of owning a TT that would be great. Thanks again guys.

Ok I know I will be beatin' for saying this, but...

I would find a 2003 Ford Mustang Cobra with about 10k miles....

You can't beat mid 12 second performance pumping 390 to the ground for 23k.....

And with 2k in upgrades you will be running 11's....

BTW aftermarket for these cars is amazing....

They sell so many body parts (lights, rears, and everything else) to make this thing not look like a typical mustang....

My friend has a 04 that runs 10.60's with 4k in mods....

Just my .02....
