what should my compression be??

i just ran a compression test on my car and it was 150 all the way across..is that realy low?? car has 148k and the motor dont realy smoke..what are my readings supposed to read on a healthy motor??? is it true that 1g dsm push out a compression of 7:8.1 on the pistons??

I have a '98 GS with 111,000 miles on it and it has exactly 150 on each cylinder. It runs fine, doesn't burn oil.

It's not just how high the compression number is that's important, it's also the consistency of the numbers across the cylinders. If you have 150 on all cylinders I'd say you're in good shape.

From the numbers you posted it looks like you are still above the service limit.

150 is great man, usually service limit is under 121 i believe.

Most motors that are freshly rebuilt dont even hit 180, its usually a max in my opinion considering we have four cylinders and lower compression pistons. You have a great healthy motor, now go spank some honda's for all the bad info.

yea i figured that ### of the low dome pisons but i already did i spanked a fully built lsvtec teg with bout 4 grand on the motor alone with my stocker dsm on 12 psi and no money on the motor ..but yea that info helped alot i neva knw the pistons had a 781 comp thats badass no wonder y this motors can hold so much boost!!!

for a 1g

135 is really good . 155 is ideal , no more then -/+ 15psi between any.

just did compression on my 1g i bought for 6 bolt swap and all 4 are 150~152

yea i neva knew that a 1g run a comp of bout 164 straight from factory ..ya i admit im a noob got out of hondas to much money to go fast.dsm is the way for me!!!

Hondas should be in the 180s because their lowest CR piston is 9.2:1.

When I had my compression test done 2 months ago I had 160 on all four cylinders. I also have a 1991 with 95,000 miles.
