What shocks work best for 1g Talon?

So I'm looking to making a road course car. It's an awd Talon. I'm thinking about getting a set of KYB adjustable shocks not coil overs. Coil overs are way to out of my price range. What I would like to know what the feed back is on these and what else is out there?

Unsure of your budget, but this thread has some good info.

It basically says that Koni Yellows were the shocks to have, along with either Eibach Pro or the Ground Control kit. They don't make the Koni Yellows for awd 1gs, so you'd have to find them from a private party seller.
From reviews I've read (not first hand exp) the KYB AGX shocks coupled with the Eibach Pro springs is an affordable and "sporty" alternative to expensive coilovers like Hotbits.

Not sure how competitive you're planning on being, but the KYB/Eibach may not cut it on the track for you. I would start racing and get a feel for the car BEFORE buying and upgrading parts. Maybe you have a lot of exp in racing, but if you don't, you'll probably let the car down on your first few times. And I mean that in the kindest way :)

And lastly, this won't help directly, but I do have exp with spring/shock combos on MR2s. I didn't do my research the first time and went with a shock/spring combo that was affordable and sounded sporty (skunk2s). Ended up not working and gave way to premature shock failure. In the end I wasted a bunch of money just to end up going back to the stock suspension setup.
So my advice to you is, be very careful with what you decide to purchase. Do plenty of compatibility research. And remember, a lot comes into play when dialing in a suspension setup, wheels, tires, along with camber, caster, and toe in/out, swaybars, weight distribution and corner weighing, etc.

Hopefully someone else who has actual firsthand exp with road racing in a 1g DSM will come in to help too.

In the meantime, GL :thumb:

Edit: after poking around, I learned that the http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-suspension-brakes/406746-2g-rear-koni-shocks-1g-awd.html is a possibility.
