I was wondering what the best shocks would be to get to have a comfortable ride, but still keep some performance. I really want it to ride smooth though, cause i'm pretty sure my shocks are bad, and it rides rough as hell over bumps.

Koni Sport and perhaps the adjustable Tokico not sure. No experience with Tokicos, but have experience w/Konis. Very good performance and compliant ride. Cost more, but you get what you pay... like many things in life (hookers?). JK.

well i have been looking in to tokico hps because i don't really think i will adjust much. is there a big difference in the hp's and the illuminas, besides being able to adjust the illuminas.

Seems like alot of people think the HP's are too stiff and don't like them. Illuminas are around 350 new on ebay if you look good.

I had Tokico HP's on my VW Scirocco a while back.. they were stiff as hell. It handled fantastic, but the ride quality was rough on my spinal cord. Especially on craptacular L.A. streets. I have regular KYB GR2's on my GST and they ride damn smooth. I also have Sprint springs. Not the sportiest equipment, but I like the ride. I've had friends mention the smoothness too.. "Dang, your car rides smooth"

just my 2¢

GR-2s ARE NOT sport shocks meant for sport [lowering] springs. Read what RRE says about them on their site.

GR-2s were meant as stock replacements. Shock bodies aren't shortened + lowering springs = lost travel.

Well, that may be the case, but mine ride smooth and don't hit the bump stops. Ever. I'm telling you this from my own personal experience.

Besides, the original poster said he wants some shocks that will give him a smooth ride, i'm just giving my input.

No one ever said you can't. Regardless of your experience, what I said remains true unless you figure out a way to bend space. Shorter shocks and shorter spriings go hand in hand. There's no changing that, physically.

No arguments here..

I'm actually probably going to be replacing them soon with something adjustable anyways.. from what i've been reading, probably the Illuminas, but they've worked ok for me for the money. *shrug*
