Alright so heres the deal, I finally decided that my rims are ugly as hell and need to be replaced. I have been looking around at some wheels, but I am also on a budget. I have mostly narrowed it down to three different wheels. I am going to be running 16X7 because the tires on my car now are almost brand new. Also I am looking for black wheels or black w/ chrome lip :D . So here are the three choices:(colors in pictures may be different)

Rota Slipstreams:

Rota Subzeros:

The first one.

Have you looked at Motegi Traclite?

No, Also I think that I need the 114.3X5.......Is that right?

The reason I like the Motegis is because they are a little bit cheaper....But does anybody know a good website to order rotas from?

Alright I went to order the wheels(Black Rota Slipstreams)from the website listed above but its also asked me if I wanted 5X114.3 +40 or 5X114.3 +45.Which one do I get???

That depends on how you want them to look. What width rim are you going with 7"? If so I would probably go with the 40 mm offset. That measurement is the distance from the mounting surface to the center line of the rim. The smaller the number, the more they will stick out. 45mm would probably ne close to the factory offset which IMO looks funny as they are set in too far. Most people want to move their aftermart wheels out abit compared to factory to give it a more agressive/racie look.

My rims are either 41 or 43 mm offset (can't remember exactly) but are 7.5" wide, so they will stick out slightly further then the 40 offset on a 7" rim.

They are 16X7, To me it doesnt make sense that the 40mm would stick out further than the 45mm, but then again I know nothing about rims. Which one do you think would make it look better.

No, i hope i'm not to late but don't get slipstreams! They are mugen replicas and are mostly found on honda's and by mostly I mean about 90 percent of the time. I would tell you to get the sub zero's i have a friend with them on his car and it looks very sexy. Hopefully I'm not to late, but then again it is your car and if you like them more power to you. That's just my .02.

Yea slipstreams, also known as "spoons" around where i live, are a common honda wheel. They look descent on dsm's but IMO you should go with the Subzero's, especially on a 2g. I think once i start looking for wheels im going to take them into consideration.

The reason why 40 mm sticks out further then 45 mm offset is because like I said this is how far away the mounting surface is from the center line of the rim. The further away you are from the center line (in the positive direction), the more of the rim is going to be behind the mounting surface (ie tucked in further). The smaller the value, the more the rim will be pushed out. Would make more sense with some pics, but hopefully you'll get the idea.

As for rim choice, Im with DSMark. The slipstreams may look alright on a dsm but you see them everywhere and always on Hondas. I personally try my best to be different from everyone else.
