what plug is this?

i was in my moms car pulling out of my driveway and it's on a hill so at the very bottom you can see the undercarriage of the car, or atleast anything protruding from it, i notice on mine i have a plug hanging down. i checked around but cant seem to find anything it plugs into.

edit - now realizing i gave little to no description, its on the front passenger side right underneath the headlight.

Judging solely by location . . . I`d guess fog lamp - ? Do both fog lights work ? Or the horn ? I can`t remember where the horn is on my 2g. That`s all I can imagine that could be . . .

come to think of it your right, i dont have fogs, and horn hasn't worked since i bought the car. i heard the horn squeak once but never worked since.

Fog lamps.

Even 1G's that aren't AWD have this plug hanging underneath for fogs.

Even the frame has the mounting holes for fogs.

Looks like a dual plug (-/+) so most likely a fog light. If you cant find out where it goes, and you dont have fog lights, then there you go... But if you DO have foglights, just use the length of the wire to see potential places it could plug in, and I'm sure you'll find it... Is there a check engine light, etc???? A few more details and we can help better.

yep, thats a foglight connector.
Look for the other one on the other location.

fair enough, it does seem like it would be for fogs it's coming out of the headlight harness. i didn't look for another plug on the other side. i do have a CEL but not related to this.
