I have searched but haven't found a good picture of a knock sensor, in its location.
I believe this is my knock sensor plug in the picture.
You can see the red and black wires coming from the block, the are going to a metal (non insulated) wire and a white wire.
But one of the wires isn't hooked up.
I want to hook it back together, but I wanted to know exactly what I'm working on here.
I'm assuming that the metal non insulated wire goes to black and the white goes to red?

that is the knock sensor from what i can see. the sensor screws/bolts into the block. those wire colors sound right. i just put a wiring harness in so that sounds very familiar.

It could be a problem if you (or anyone else) had to replace it again sometime down the road or if you had to pull the engine for some reason. For what it's worth, I wouldn't splice them together.

Yea your right I didn't splice them together.
I took the plug side that had the wire ripped out and ran a new wire into it.
Spliced it into the harness and now no check engine light.

Seems like I already knew what to do, just needed some reassurance.
Thanks
