I have a 1997 Eclipse GST. I was wondering if it would be more worth it speed wise to switch to a 1g AWD turbo. If i bought the 1g turbo i would have enough money from my 2g to rebuild the engine or put a large FMIC on it. Let me lay my 2g out for you:

2g GST:
Needs new bumper, quarterpanel, hood, passenger fender, and paint job
Turbo puffs smoke
Engine hesitates during WOT
Tires gone
Tranny sometimes won't shift right

Like i said there is a 1992 Talon AWD turbo around here for 2500 and a 90 GSX that needs some work for 800.

I would sell it for what you can(sounds pretty rough), and definatley go awd :thumb:. that is just my opinion though!

I have been offered 5,000 for my 2g but i think i can get 5,500...
I have enough to buy a 90 GSX with new rings, and crap inside (stock pistons and rods) with a new 14b for 900 dollars. Then sell my car for 5,500 and maybe:
HUGE FMIC
Built engine
Fuel pump and management
Turn boost to 17 psi

WTF kind of option is that? Hilariously random. I can either make the car function or throw an unrelated modification on it :|

What? He says the engine was rebuilt yet it does not have the oil pan on it....
Who would rebuild the engine then install it without putting the oil pan on? I seem to think that the engine is crap and thus will need a rebuild. And after i put the fuel system on i would turn boost way up thus needing a FMIC to keep it all cool and happy? Enough explaining for you asshole?

2g FWD or 1g AWD for performance? i vote 1g AWD.. preferably a 1gb though.

oh, and i dont suggest buying a car with known problems unless you have the cash to fix it or know how to do it yourself..

buying a lemon is not cool :|

Even if you sell your GST, what makes you think the 1g will be in any better shape? Besides, I'm a bit partial to a good looking fast car as opposed to a (IMO)ugly as shit fast car.
