So i found out the reason why my car wasnt running properly my stock t25 turbo had excessive internal damage so i sent it out to G-Pop Shop and got rebuilt and they recommended that i upgrade it to a t28 so i did now before i install this rebuilt turbo i recently purchased and installed a new FPR and 190 Walbro fuel pump a new 1g bov, a dejon intake, Full cat back exhaust, the injectors are stock 450cc

will 14psi be enough ??

You should be fine with your setup no problem, no other supporting mods required. In fact, an all stock motor should be fine with a T-28 upgrade so with the other mods you just purchased you should be golden. Maybe a quality boost controler to give ya an extra couple psi will do no harm with your new T-28 if you don't think 14psi will be enough to satisfy you. I'd also recomend a wideband if you don't got one already it's always nice to have when you start increacing the stock air and fuel flow from factory. :thumb:

Your setup is completely fine. You'll definitely max out the injectors before maxing the turbo, but you can really push a lot of the turbo stil with the stock injectors.

Coming from my experiences with my 14b, the 14b flows a little less than a T28. I ran my 14b with 19PSI on my stock injectors. No knock, and it didn't lean out. However, my duty cycle was at 98.8% so it was pretty much maxed. I don't recommend it, but you can run your T28 around 16-18 PSI without trouble.

There are a lot of assumptions going on in this thread. No one here knows the condition of your motor and how it's going to react.

You won't know what's safe until you record logs, check them, and go from there.

There is just a lot of terrible information in this thread. A lot of people are totally missing the basics.

Ok thank you all for your feedback and i forgot to add i do have Hallman manual boost controller and a front mount intercooler, but i have come to the decision that i will add 550 injectors and get a tune but my question now is what should i do to tune the car go somewhere and pay 500$ to 700$ or get a safc2 or a link ??

If you want to do it once and keep the T28 and the same boost level for awhile, yeah you could pay someone to tune it. Get one of those custom programmed eproms. For low-cost (and totally sufficient for <20psi) DIY tuning, SAFC2. For room to grow in the future, link.

The max boost i would run on STOCK injectors would be 12psi max..

Why? I am running 14 psi with an EBC on my 16g and I haven't seen knock but once or twice which was on old gas during the summer. If I rewired the fuel pump I am sure I could go higher before it starts to lean out.

You can't just go somewhere and get the car tuned. You need to have some type of tuning device. SAFC is fine, it will let you control injectors up to 50% larger. You may or may not be able to max the t-28 out on a safc with 680s.

I would suggest DSM Link v3 lite.

Pushed to the limit? You will run out of fuel well before you max this turbo out.

Well what are the basics then and what information is terrible so you can clear things up on here? 95% of the people out there upgrade their cars with bolt ons and such or throw a turbo on without first tuning, logging. I'm not saying this is correct by any means, but it is just what people out there do.

On a different note, from personal experience I have not noticed any change in my A/F ratios when upgrading from the T25 to the T28 ruinning the same boost level of 15psi and using stock injectors and a rewired fuel pump. So thats why i don't see how a t-28 would cause him any problems at near stock boost levels. If i am wrong, please correct me. Thanks
