Just wondering what certain loctite(red, blue etc..) or threadlocker I should use on the 420a engine and focusing on the timing section because I am on that. Should I use any loctite on the camgear bolts or other bolts that are for any of the timing components? Any links would be helpful or a good broad talk on which I should use.

No need for that stuff on timing bolt parts. No need for it, i never used that on timing areas, flywheel bolts, pressure plate bolts stuff like that.

Loctite only accomplishes making stuff harder to take apart. Sometimes nearly impossible.

In my mind as long as you use the proper torque and what not you should be fine.

In my opinion everything inside the timing cover should have loctite on it. I use the harbor freight brand red loctite on everything that could cause a problem if it came loose.

I don't see how it's a bad idea to use loctite on your timing components due to the fact that losing a tensioner could blow your engine. Not to mention some bolts in that area see oil pressure. I use blue loctite so that it's not impossible to get apart, but it seals things up and stops them from falling out.

Blue loctite on at least the flexplate bolts and the 4 bolts that bolt the clutch onto the flexplate. Factory (and I) does those bolts.

I can't off the top of my head, think of anything else I loctite.
