I just got a 1992 Eagle Talon FWD with the 4G63nt engine. I want to go turbo but have never been down this road before. I am doing some research but am still just a noob. Can someone please tell me what a good turbo would be to start out with? I am only wanting to run 6 to 8 psi to begin with. I dont have a lot of money so I cant afford to swap out internals at the moment. I just want something to start out on that wont give me any boost creep or crankwalk.

Some people run a stock turbo setup in a NT block. The NT blocks have a higher oil pressure if I'm not mistaken.

Save her for a winter beater or sell her and buy a factory turbo model. You might get lucky and find an AWD as an added bonus.

I just got offered an Eagle Talon with the 4G63t. The car was wrecked and its only fwd. They want 600 for it but it has been sitting for YEARS. Would I have better luck if I hold off and sell what I have and look for a turbo awd dsm that needs some tlc?

14b would be a great first step. But a 16g is a great turbo, but if you only want to run 6-8 then it may be overkill

I would wait unless you feel like rebuilding and cleaning out the engine! Its been sitting for years. Probably has problems upon problems. I would make sure that the engine turns over and runs before you buy any DSM if your looking for a good working one that will only take a small list of maintenance.

Does it come with an special aftermarket items? Depending on what it comes with it might make it worth it. $600 for a FWD thats undrivable. To me that sounds like a major rip off because on top of all of the damage it hasn't even been turned over in years.

I'm sure that you can find an AWD for under $800 easy. If your willing to sell your current DSM I would. Take the cash and save it with your current saved cash. Pay a friend the gas to drive you to the location of the new DSM your gonna get and drive home in an AWD DSM with a big happy grinn :thumb:.

In all honesty me myself I would offer the guy a few hundred for the wrecked DSM. If all else fails and its a POS you can always strip it and sell the good stuff from it and use the profit you made from it to buy a nicer DSM. I would offer no more that $400 for any wrecked car that hasn't been started in years. Try offering $300 for it then last offer is $350. If he says no HE WILL BE BACK. No one in there right mind will buy it for $600 unless its got some really special stuff in it.

The automotive business is very crooked these days. Some are straight forward people but he don't sound anything like that. If your buying something off the side of the road then you haggle with them.

*IMPORTANT*
Never let a seller push you into buying something that you don't want for a price that is unreasonable. True colors is key. Don't act like you have no clue what your doing or they will try to take advantage of that.

You can PM me and I will help you out by finding good DSM in your area to look into. I know allot of people in different states. It might not be here on tuners or on craigslist. It might be on the side of the road for sale. PM me anytime dude.

You could buy it, use all the turbo parts and ECU, put them on your N/T and run it. While you are running it, you can rebuild the turbo motor and when ready, swap them out.

That was my plan, I have been running my N/T in a AWD Turbo for over a year. I had a new motor to put in, but found a shell needing a motor, so the "Hybrid" will continue to roll on with my son, and I will drive the new project

What year is the one you were offered? I'm guessing its an older one. Take a look at it and do a good looking over of it then Dented said, haggle with the person if they said 600 dont go higher then 400. It is possible to make your n/t into a turbo but honestly why when it is so easy to just get a factory turbo one for cheap. If you REALLY wanna get to know DSMs then buy the one offered as long as the body isnt to badly banged up and pull the motor and do the rebuild. It will be a pain in the ass and the waiting will kill you BUT you will respect the car and take better care of it and love it and the experience that much more in the end. Then again you could hold out and sale what you have. Take that money and add to it to find you a GSX in need of some tlc like you mentioned and go from there. That's the easy way out if you ask me and simplest. You say 6-8 psi but TRUST me, once you get a taste of boost under your right foot YOU WILL WANT MORE LOL. Good luck either way ya go man :) keep us updated.
