what kind of trans problem am i looking at?

Well something went wrong when I was accelerating in first gear, heard a loud bang and then car drove like one of the tires were flat. I have it up on jackstands and It goes into gears fine, I let out the clutch and all the tires spin, but There's definetly something bouncing around at the bottom of the trans I can hear. What kind of work am i looking at if the trans goes into gear, clutch engages, and drives. but the wheels stutter when driving?

Am not sure but I had the same issue with my Expedition and it was a bad pinion gear. Like the one in the picture.

Now do you feel it more in the front wheels or the rear?

I would say front but only because its something in the transmission

Yeah and the front tires diff. pinion gear is in the tranny, that could be a possibility.

Also does it only do it in 1st gear or every gear.

I've only tried 1st and 2nd, but its worse in 2nd, and im assuming it does it in all gears, and more speed makes the symptoms worse

Well does are the symptoms of what I stated above earlier, if anyone else has another input on this that would be perfect but I honestly think it could be that.

How do you figure? anyway to test this?

Considering is doing it in all gears possibly even though you tested it in 1st and 2nd only, but as you say the faster you go the worst it gets, there is no more to it than you Differential gone bad
