What kind of power can RC 550's support?

Here's the thing...bought my car with RC 550s already installed. I am buying a 20g turbo and planning to tune everything at 25psi. Have MAF-T and SAFC for tuning at the moment.

How much can I squeeze out of the 550s? I do not want to run these injectors at 80% cycle duty or anything like that. I was going to buy 1000cc injectors and run those, but if these 550s will support between 350-400awhp then there's no need for me to buy bigger injectors right now.

The only thing is I don't want to run high cycle duty like I said...I know some people are using Evo 550s and getting 350hp but at what cost?

I have 550's with my 18g right now and they won't even let me bring it past 20psi. You can't use anything bigger than 650's with a SAFC, sounds like your gonna need to upgrade to link and some 1000's or just run a 16g. And Evo's use 560's, not 550's. I don't think know anyone making over 350whp with 550s, you have to think they are only 100cc's bigger than stock..

Concensus is 350-360. You probably need 650s for a 20g. Your boost will be too high at 25 psi unless you've got a stout set up motor wise. 20- 22 psi is max for the motor and that's on the borderline.

+1 to link. If you are looking to make 400whp+ then link is the way to go. Depends on what application your car will be used for and what your goals are.

Yeah. My buddy just got link and with a basically bone stock motor (i believe he has arp studs and a 3 layer recent rebuld) rc 550's runnin 20 psi, got his car tuned at my school (wyotech) and they got him tuned in at like 305hp.

I am also using MAF-T to tune though, not only SAFC. MAF-T will be used to get the base tuning done and then SAFC to fine tweak it. With that combo, I won't only be relying solely on SAFC so I CAN run bigger injectors. 1000cc's it is then.

Mods in my profile I'm running 24psi on my bastard 20g, but I'm WELL over 80% duty cycle LOL.

Get 1000s and run straight e85 tuning with your maft and safc. Should bring the base timing up a little which is good for e85 and you'll be able to make much more power and have a safer tune at the same time.
