I had the downpipe off teserday, next gasket, copper sprayed, still did this noise. now i know this probably bad i have no idea if it was doing this before or after, i have timing belt 3k ago, new lifters, ideas?

hmm that kinda sounds like a bad harmonic balancer have you checked it's integrity ?

Mine sounded like that and it was easily fixed here's what mine looked like btw let's hope its not a failing tensioner that would suck,

but it's deffinitaly something to figure out before your next cruise just to be cautious

My failing harmonic balancer had more of a "belt shreak" sound with throttle. It does NOT sound like a mechanical "tic" but rather sounds like an "air pulse." You might also check your exhaust manifold gasket.
 
well i did a new exhaust manifold gasket with copper rtv spray, turbo to manifold gasket with copper tv as well, and the j pipe to down pipe gasket with copper tv, and the sound is definitely better but tikicking is still there espeically when cold and at causal accelerations but tends to go away around 3k (or atleast you cant hear it) ? so the timing belt tensioner is a suspect? i just did a timing job with a brand new one that sat on a shelf for a year.
