I I noticed today a lot of buildup on this "thing". It's the long slender pipe in the pics, also the springs rings thingeys on it are at the bottom rather than the top of it, like in this picture.

These arnt my pics i ahve no cam so this is the best i could find on this site that shows the part thats all messed up for me.

so,

A) what is it?
B) where are the rings at the opposite end for me
C) possible fix?

Thanks!!

Thats is the turbo oil drain line. The rings are the flex section. If it is leaking at the flex, you either need to replace it or cut the section out and replace with an oil resistant hose. Double check before you start cutting because they are also known to leak at the gaskets. Your best bet is to clean it thoroughly with brake cleaner and recheck it after a few good runs.

That long slender pipe youre looking at is the oil feed line coming from the turbo. It delivers oild to the turbo. I had a leak about 2 months ago and i fixed it when i did my oilchange. I let all the oil out and took the 2 screws at the bottom of the line by the oil pan off and put a new seal on it (i could see that it was that seal that was leaking).

I think you are confused. The braided line in the first picture is the oil feed line. It goes from the oil filter housing to the turbo. And it only has one bolt that attaches it to the turbo. The line on the bottom is the drain line that runs from the bottom of the turbo to the oil pan. It is attached to the turbo by 2 bolts and to the pan by 2 bolts. And I already said it might be the gasket so no need to say it again, specially if you dont even know what line you are talking about.

Thanks for the info guys,
I guess my return line is upside down comapred to the pics.. no biggie I'm sure.

And I'll have to clean it to find out where its leaking. It's covered pretty good in a thick sludge.

I'll post back with my results, thanks guys.
