I'm kinda confused by this part right here. Since it is on the side of the turbo which is boosted, wouldn't u want this to be small in diameter so that pressure will gain faster? I'm kinda confused by this part cause bigger in this case doesn't seem like it would be bigger in my opinion. Someone plz set me straight on why this would help anything.

Actually that's not the side that builds the boost. The exhaust side is what drives the turbo. that side just spins according to the amount of exhaust gasses flowing thru the other side. So bigger is better in that situation, just not too big.

Between the part claiming "Increase restricted area 37% over stock piping" (???) and what you guys posted, I'm lost.

Smaller intakes will increase low-end torque at the loss of high-rpm breathing. Larger intakes will lose bottom-end while allowing better breathing at high rpms. Provided the car and turbine are set up for it, and usual disclaimers. The Cyclone intake attempts to bridge this, and perhaps in the kind of driving that goes on in Japan it does. But it doesn't seem to pay off enough out here where we have some elbow room.

ya i know thats not the part that spins it, thats the part right out of the turbo where pressure first goes through, i'm just under the impression for some reason that smaller in that area would be better because the pressure can build faster. Like if the part is 30% bigger it would be extra space that the turbo would have to pressurize, even if it helped how much would it help?

Yeah but having a lot of pressure isn't as "good" as having more room for the air to go - that doesn't make any sense so keep reading (i suck at explaining things). For example, take a smaller turbo, like a 14B, and take something a little bigger, like an EVO 16G, or even a 20G. Now take 2 cars, exactly the same, and put both of these turbos on. Run them both at 12 PSi. Which car do you think will be faster? The one with the EVO 16G, because even though they are pushing the exact same boost pressure, the 16G is pushing more air at that pressure. I hope that makes sense now! What I'm trying to explain is that boost pressure isn't the only thing that counts, you want plenty of room for the air to move around, so the turbo doesn't "choke" (within reason).

Trust me, the turbo can pressurize the air just fine by itself, you really don't need any smaller piping to help it. And restricting intake piping (again, within reason - anything over 3'' is probably bad for a 2.0L) isn't a good thing.

That part looks like it has an increase in diameter over the stock piping, maybe good if you are trying to squeeze every ounce of power out of your 14B, but I doubt you'll see a noticable difference. You'd be better off getting a hard UICP (upper intercooler pipe).

I've got the Dejontool larger compressor outlet elbow piece which is in question...

Personally, it may help...but im not really sure. It came with my car, so i cant say i have a big noticable difference.

Most people go with fmics anyways which in turn needs a J pipe or something bigger anyways.

possible good upgrade/money waster for us 14b folk though :)

LOL its not like its expensive, but i would really like to swap my lower ic pipes just because that like threaded carpet matereal crap is annoying to look at, its like wtf thats my intake? LOL straight stainless is my vote :)
