Air/Fuel Controller.

It's used to trick your ECU into thinking that your engine is recieving more/less air then it really is. The ECU then compensates with the correct amount of fuel (correct meaning, the right amount of fuel for the air it thinks is coming in).

For more info, search SAFC, S-AFC, S-AFC II, AFC (the "S" is for SUPER Air/Fuel Controller).

An "afc" commonly refers to an "Air-Fuel-Contoller". Apex'i makes the AFC, Super AFC (S-AFC), Super AFC-2 (S-AFC2), and Neo (new AFC). It is wired into the vehicle's wiring harness as a "piggy-back" type controller; which means that it uses your stock engine computer and the AFC adds additional tuning by adjusting (or fooling) the Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor's signal of how much air it is seeing at the intake. By using an AFC, you are able to adjust the signal for the MAF telling it the increase or decrease in the amount of air it is seeing, hence telling it how much more or less fuel to bring to the party.

If you are only intending on running an intake and a recirculating blow off valve, it isn't worth purchasing. If you are intending on doing any more types of modification to your vehicle, I would suggest learning more about them.
