i've know this has been asked many times but im still not sure..
im in the process of rebuilding my motor with weisco 8.3.1 forged pistons and eagle rods..
all my mods are up to date. i have one problem, can anyone tell me what headgasket should i buy..(somethiing that can hold 25+ psi boost w/o any problem and also what size in thickness should i get it:confused:)

Mitsu MLS with ARP hardware will work fine for that, and I have heard of some guys running stock composites with ARP head studs, the idea being if the car knocks the headgasket acts as a fuse and blows before you lose the motor. However, that does mean you might be replacing HGs more often than you would otherwise. If you want the end all be all gasket solution I would suggest the Fel-Pro PermaTorque MLS, part number 1153-1 with ARP L19s or A1 technologies head studs. We run the Fel-pro with A1s. Remember that a MLS will require a good sealing surface on the head

L19's wont be necessary for that amount of boost, regular ARPs will do just fine

I ran a regular Felpro composite for months at 25psi+ and never had any problems, eventually my motor gave out because of a rod, but when i looked at the headgasket, still looked great :thumb:

what about this set up: arp head studs and the mitsu MLS headgasket. Would it be able to handle the power and boost im aiming for?

Yea thats a good common setup

Its suppose to be rated up to 600hp which is more than enough for most DSMs

But its really about how much boost your pushing before the head will lift with regular ARPs...

You should be good for up to 35psi with regular ARPs, anything after that much boost i'd recommend L19s
