What happened to my valves???

i had some bent valves before and i didnt know to change out the guides and stuff like that. all i did was change out the valves. and put the head back on and after that is when i started having the problems. i took the head off my car a bit ago and found out that on 2 different valves i had holes completely burnt through them. big enough that i could put my pinkie into them. im planning on getting a new stage 3 head from slow boy so i was just wondering if there might be something wrong that could mess up the new head once i put it back on. or if me not changing out the other stuff in the head caused the issues.

If a valvejob wasn't performed when you swapped the valves, that's what caused the problem.

Make sure you didnt mess up the pistons as well. could have also bent a rod. have a machine shop do a valve job.

do you mean from when i bent the valves or from me not doing a valve job? i rebuilt the whole bottom end after i bent the valves. just didint have the knowledge that i needad a total valve job. i just swapped valves...opps on my part!

Throwing valves onto seats without doing a re-grind on both is ill-advised, at best. No, your rods nor your pistons are in no peril.
