ok well i am in the middle of changing my timing belt and water pump. also my tensioner. i want to eliminate the ballance shaft but i dont really know what i have to do that since the motor is still in the car.

i have the motor proped up on a jack so i dont have much room to work. and i dont really feel like pulling it till this summer. i just need to get the car so i can drive it for school.

what else should i do to the car since i am at this stage with all the parts removed for the timing belt? (that will help in a good way)like more power or efficiancy

For the balance shaft removal: http://www.vfaq.com/mods/balance-shafts.html

While you are there, it isn't a bad idea to replace the seals (cam shaft seals, front main seal, etc..) After all, you wouldn't want to have one fail and get oil all over your timing belt components.
The idler and tensioner pulleys should be replaced as well as the tensioner itself.

If you keep the balance shaft then be sure to replace the balance shaft belt and the balance shaft belt tensioner.

alright well il do the ballance shaft removal this summer when i have the motor all the way out. i dont feel like doin it when it is still in the car. i got the all the new timing parts ordered so. thanks for the advise.
