So I am almost done collecting all my parts for my rebuild.

This is for my 2g awd
Thus far what I have:
eagle rods
ross 8.5:1 pistons
crower springs/retainers
Act2100 clutch kit
xact flywheel
revised lifters
apr head studs
bronze & copper valve guides
1mm oversized valves
14b turbo

block will be bored .20 over and be o-ringed
head will be ported/polished

Going to be on order:
hks cams 272's
aem wideband
safc or dsmlink
tein basic suspension
shepracing stage 2 tranny

What can i expect for hp or 1/4 times w/ this setup safely? And how well or how much power will the stock tranny hold up to?
Also I am not sure on how much boost I am going to run, nor do I have any idea on how much can be run through this setup.
If anyone has any suggestions on anything that I should change or modify, please let me know.
Thanks

well 1/4 mile all depends on your driving, if you shift like grandma and have stock tires then good luck breaking low 13's. Your hp level ranges anywhere from 150-500 depending on tuning and boost levels.

I would recommend inserting a feeler gauge in between the oil pump gears per the instructions in the service manual to see if they are out of spec. Honestly I recommend replacing the front case and oil pump gears if you have no already done so. The feeler gauge method is a cheap way to see if you oil pump will work properly. And being AWD, I would get the ACT 2600 or equivalent instead of the 2100. You will be very dissapointed when you melt that after a few pass at the track.

While I somewhat agree with your first statement, I can't really say much for the second. Tuning is key, but 500 hp on a 14b? WTF Hopefully you just made a typo...

Is it just me, or can you not read?

AWD? With all those modifications and AWD low 13's are a cakewalk. I'd expect anywhere in the 12's out of a car like that.

150HP? Are you serious? A non-turbo Eclipse GS puts out 140, how can you honestly say 150HP? And worse yet, 500? Highly, highly, highly doubtful. These cars are rated 210HP stock, so I'd say somewhere in the 300HP area, but don't hold me too it. However, I'd be more than willing to bet that you're no where close to 500HP.

thanks guys. I'm looking for an eprom ecu but not in a rush.
I was thinking about the act2600 but will that clutch be bad for a new motor for break in period?
Also I am hoping to get under the 13's. I'm not a bad driver, but I'm not a great driver. I'm better than the average people around my area, but then again who knows, I've been told that I hit the gears "too hard". I had a fwd spec v that I used to romp on and someone told me that I hit the gears too hard. They said if I had a RWD 8cyl that's how I should hit each gear. Any truth to this or is it a bunch of crap?
And no they never grinded at all, if anyone is wondering. LOL

Tell them to suck it. My car is floored from the starting line to the finish line. I NEVER lift to shift. Id like to see what they say to me, actually they would probably run and hide cause they just got whooped :talon:

¿what good will those oversized valves do you without a full port and polish of the head? ;)
i'm pretty sure that was supposed to be 150-300hp, and it's quite believable that a 2g dsm could be a sluggish 150hp with really poor tuning.
i would definitely get an act2600 or slowboy3500 (i've heard/read great things about both of them). as for the shifting... the comment about the v8 tells me that the mullet-bearing guy who told you not to shift so hard (???) doesn't know anything about turbo-charged i4's (esp the dsm tranny). i'd worry about refining my shifting if your new tranny develops problems
