What do you have/use in place of a nice enclosed air conditioned garage?

I don't have that luxury and here in FL it's tough outdoors all hours to work on my car so without a garage what do you guys do? Rent your mechanic's? Rent from local storage? I often only have the nighttime to work on my car and besides the heat during the day makes it grueling, and at night neighbors are sleeping and mosquitos are awake and hungry. Date a girl with a garage? I guess this is kinda silly question but i'm hoping someone has an idea that i'm just missing.

I use to work on a car in the summer heat in the dirt. Not even a concrete pad to work on. I don't know why you're complaining. LOL

Maybe you could rent a storage unit that has electricity (if any are like that). Then buy a small window a/c that you can sit on the ground at the bottom of the door. Then cut some plywood to fill the rest of the gap.

If your worried about ths heat bearing down on you go get one of those pop up canopies and work on it under that

Gravel driveway.

I feel ya. As a youngster it was a choice between the gravel driveway or the dirt. I typically picked the dirt cause it was cooler, and the jerry picker was to hard to move through deep gravel.

Gravel drive way haha.... been there done that. Also snow cant forget about snow. Had to change brake lines on the gf's cavalier when we first got together out in the snow in a blizzard. It was either that or spend the night with the gf' parents

Haha.

I have just a parking spot as well. Changed my VC out in the snow because I had just got it back freshly powdercoated from TCC and couldn't wait to get it on.

Yeah, it's a bit expensive to rent. Best deal is get an apt with garage option usually $50-100/month extra. Just didn't want to have to move yet. I use the 8x12 living room of my one bedroom apt as a garage but one that I can't drive my car into unfortunately. But I'll be able to rebuild my transmission in here.

I rented a storage unit for my 96 and work on it in there. No electricity, but at least it's out of the sun. Only $65 a month.
