I have greddy power extreme on my 2g gst, but I think i might want to get a 3". I think the power extreme is 2.5 or 2.75". Do you guys think there would be much of a difference in getting a 3 inch. If so, what do you guys recommend?
 
i would go 3" so you dont have to upgrade later when you decide to get a bigger turbo, and i would do custum exaughst alot cheap and i really doubt you will notice a diff between your exaughst shop doing it or apex i sending you the piping.
 
:dsm: 3" definetly flows better. It is hella cheaper to get one made at your local muffler shop, but check out their work first. My buddy had one custom made, and ended up with some leaks in 2 of the welds. I put on the full turbo-back APEXi 3" gt exhaust on my 97 gst spyder. Works really nice and sounds good. But it wasn't cheap:shhh:
 
I Felt a power gain in my N1... what's the stock exhaust diameter anyway?? if you plan on breaking 12's then you'll need a 3" but you can easily hit 13's with a 2.5" exhaust.
 
i like my homemade one.

3" all the way, no reducers. 90 degrees of full bends. only cost 200 bucks w/muffler.
 
Opps. I need to correct myself. I have the APEXi N1, not the gt. I don't know what I was thinkin'. Working too much, thinkin' too much, I'm goin' crazy:shhh: But yea, anyway you go, 3" is the way. I've heard good stuff about most all types. Main factor is your wallet.
 
I have the Bushur 3" turbo back w/test pipe. For about $750 you can't really go wrong. The quality is obvious and the piping is mated to a quiet, high-flowing muffler. I saw immediate power gains (until I broke my tranny) and had a great looking and sounding exhaust set-up. Good Luck!
 
If you're staying in the 13 second range, there is no need for 3" exhaust. But like some people said, you're going to maybe want more power down the road (ie: bigger turbo), so you just might want 3" in the first place. Otherwise go 2.5"

I have custom 3" mandreal bent cat-back (with genuine apexi n1 muffler) and RNR Racing 3" downpipe. Sounded great and neither were too expensive (~$550)

That's my combo, and I love it. Played around the other day with a friend from work with a TT. As we got to our destination, she commented that my car sounded 'evil'. :D It also helps that I can pass her like she's standing still.

go 3 inch DP and Exhaust all the way..no matter if its a muffler shop job, home made, or one that you bought..you wont regret it!:thumb:
 
Depending on your mads, I doubt you will see any noticeable performance increase over the power extreme. The piping size varies from 2.5-3" so a straight 3" won't be that big of a deal. Plus, at the track most people just unbolt after their downpipe si It's not going to help you at all if you do that.
 
I just installed the RNR 3" turbo back O2 elim exhaust and absolutely love it. It replaced the stock exhaust and the performance increase was amazing. Huge thumbs up :thumb:
