I've tried finding this out on a few occasions over the past year including emailing FP (no response), and figure I'd ask again. I figure 30 minutes of searching the forum was enough ;).

Also, if someone has a link to the compressor map as well, that'd be swell (I'm actually just looking for the compressor map, but knowing what wheel it is also lets me find other info about it).

Thanks!

The compressor wheel (I have noticed) looks oddly similar to a 16g wheel  and they are rated very closely flow wise...550cfm:shhh:

Thanks...

I don't know if that falls into the "I think" category or the "it's definitely the same, you newbie" with sarcasm category (considering the  part).

I want to know for sure, because I'm gonna geek out on the compressor map data, and it would be a complete waste of time if it's the wrong map.

It is NOT a 16g wheel. The "Killer" T28 is the one with a 16g hybrid wheel.

The FP Big28 uses the standard T28 compressor wheel if I recall correctly--this is the turbo that replaced the original FP T28/28 after all. I sold one off a couple of months ago unfortunately or I'd be able to measure it out to confirm for you.

It states on their website "For questions, product information, or orders, the best way to get a hold of us is by phone."

Their number is (972) 984-1800 and are great people to deal with.

Edit: a quick Google pulled up this: http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/dis...hiclesCommonProtege&sectionParameter=session2
If you look at the bottom of the page they show a T28 flow map (which I strangely have not seen anywhere else on the intardnet). It is sort of hard to read, but the bottom is given in 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 lbs/min and the y axis is read in PR starting at 1.0 going to 2.6 at the top of the chart in 0.2 increments. Good luck and feel free to ask for anything else.

Thanks guys!

I guess I'll just call FP.

No worries gsxtacy; no apology necessary. I just didn't know how to interpret your post and need a definitive answer.

Big28 runs a 62 trim compressor wheel. The older FP28/28 had a smaller 79 trim turbine wheel with 10 blades, same compressor wheel. Big28 turbine wheel comes with a 9 bladed turbine wheel, supposedly good enough for an extra 20 h.p. gain over the older FP28/28. Flow rate limit is right around 37-38 lb/min.

Here's the map:

^^^ Ahhh... yes, I've seen that compressor map before.

I didn't realize it but the FP Big28 has the same compressor as the old "Disco Potato". :thumb:

Here's a few pics of the older FP28/28 and a 16g side by side. T25 on the left, T28 middle, 16g right.

Here's the blurb circa 2001 from FP's website about the T28.
