Okay so I'm finally going to work on the pieces I already have instead of spending money on other stuff that probably won't reach it's full potential. This weekend I'm going to tear off the turbo and manifold and O2 housing. I have the FP Big28 with Evo III exhaust manifold and Evo III O2 housing. I plan on match porting (to the 7cm2 gasket) the mani to the turbine housing. Quick questions- can I stuff something down the turbine housing while I port it so I don't have to tear it apart? I am playing around with my old T25 and I couldn't get it apart because...well I don't know why, it's just 'stuck.' So I guess does anybody have any pictures of a ported T28 that I can check out to see how I should be doing this? And also, what about the manifold? How much of that should be ported out? Thanks for the help- I'm new to the porting game (obviously).

okay so i'm having a hell of a time getting the turbine housing off of my old T25. If I can't get the housing apart on my T28 when I take it off to port it, would it be safe if I carefully plug up the passage to the turbine? Thanks

1. You'll be able to get the turbine housing off. FP assembled your turbo relatively recently, at least compared to the old T25. I've taken mine apart. It was cake. I've also attempted to take apart my old T25 in effort to clock it for a custom turbo kit on another vehicle which, as you're now aware, is impossible. :)

2. Port it all, it's a good mod. Take your time, do it right, there's going to be a huge mess. Use a carbide bit and a powerful grinder, it's the only way to do it.

3. Buy a 7cm gasket (FP's is an excellent piece) before you start porting, so there's no delay in getting it all back together, and so that you can lay the gasket on the surface to be ported and mark exactly what needs to be ported with a marker of some sort.

4. Lastly, here's a pic of my FPbigT28, ported by FP. Notice the wastegate porting. Try to emulate. Have fun!
