I think I have seena pink car in a mag that glowed in the dark. Pretty neat, but better if it was a different color. I wanna build a dune buggy with fluorescent orange pipes and put black lights all over it. Nice effect imo. :p

thanks guys that cucumber pink idea is great i think im gonna follow up on that one as soon as i get the money, LOL. anyways i decided to keep it black so i dont have to paint the engine bay and all that stuff. but meghan kidwell who has a eclipse in sedalia has a pink car and cucumber pink comes to mind everytime i see her car.

Thanks for noting the smiley getting kicked in the N*%#, I didn't notice it when I read the initial message!!!!!!

Now on a more serious note, I have a friend that just painted his accord with a "rd dust", I thought it resembled a reddish coral that turned to shades of gold and orange depending on how the lights hit it. aIt loks awesome with his Carbon fiber hood, spoiler and door trim....!

This is kind of an opinion poll I guess. I'm repainting in the spring because of the whole road salt issue so I have some time to think it over. Really I like the factory color, but if I'm going to repaint and get the materials for less that 200.00 I might as well explore all options. The pic is the current color below. I'm switching to gunmetal rims similar to what LarryD has so keep that in mind. Any color change ideas? Retain factory color?
Thanks for the opinions.

i like the factory color you have there, but if you decide to change, go with either a gunmetal or dark metalic blue or black. the only thing about changing colors is that you have to paint the engine bay, which can be expensive or if you do it yourself, really time consuming. i was thinking about changing the color of my white laser to black, but i don't know if i want to deal with the chore of doing the engine bay.

Well I have to agree with echo, although changing the color is a nice change to a car, it is either REALLY expensive or REALLY time consuming .. I say just stick the factor color so you don't have to paint door jams, engine bay, under the hatch ETC...

although I am liking your car in blue...here is a Photoshop pic I just did for your viewing pleasures.:thumb:

Wow that does look very nice in blue, but it's so not me heh. I wonder what it would look like in titanium, gunmetal gray or both...

Thanks for taking the time to experiment with that DSMED! I would love to see what it would look like with Gunmetal gray or titanium. I'm a sucker for black DSM's too but I have several pics of the same car with that color..looks so damn good. I guess i'm afraid that I'm going to change the color and be disappointed with it...

I know this is going to sound...cheap...possibly even...stupid but I think it might possibly be beneficial.

I'm going to be pulling the engine to clean it up and tank it in February. I'm replacing all the gaskets and I will probably order the revised mitsu lifters and replace those as well as some other things anyway.

Durring this time I was thinking of coating the firewall all the way up to the cowl with undercoating or a thin truckbed lining. I haven't decided yet and we have the equipment and means to do either... This would be alot easier than having to prep and paint it...and it would reduce noise at the sacrafice of about 8lbs of material.
P.S. Doorjams? I'm not worried about doing that...that's what brother in laws with paint and prep experience are for.:thumb:

Thanks to everyone who contributed an opinion on this one.

Most DSM cars that I see with Gunmetal rims are electric blue, Dark Grey, Black and Silver. Most also have Dark Limo Tint windows and now body kits. I have seen a Black with Black tint, Black 18 inch wheels.
I have seen a Silver with Dark Gunmetal Rims, Red rearview mirrors, Mirror tint and 17 inch Gunmetal Rims.

I think if want to get noticed at shows and on the road go with a Titanium color with black or Dark grey 17 inch rims. If you want the fast/sleeper/tuner look go with Black with a Carbon Fiber hood, Black 18 inch wheels and a 35% tint to the windows. If you are going for shows.......go with an Electric Blue from the House of Color with 17 inch Gunmetal rims and no tint (IMO). I look forward to seeing it when it is done.:dsm:

You wanted female opinion?

Ummm . . . that is possibly one of the strangest color combos I have heard of. Tan interior, but a black dash?

Any who . . . I'd go with red neons and as for the calipers I agree with mavisky.

Snoopy02,
You are in the wrong forum. You should be in the Non Performance mods forum. If your car is Maroon. You can go with Yellow calipers and yellow neon. I have sean this once. Looked okay.

You could go with blue calipers and blue neon. I have seen this as well.

Or you could go with Red Neon and Red calipers.

Be careful with cops though. Sometimes they get funny with what color neon you have. Blue gets by most of the time, but RED usually gets a lot of people in trouble. Chrome or polished calipers sound great, but I bet you don't want to do that much work!!

I have a 98 RS exact same color set up. I have blue bulbs where ever possible and Blue underbody kit. Blue lights inside and I have some silver accent. I plan on converting the interior to blue/black in the future but I think it looks just fine right now.

incase you question the silver gauge bezel, Sterio Bezel, etc it'll look great with the diamond plate floor mats =)

:dsm: JUST GIVE ME YOUR OPINION ON WHAT COLOR U THINK I SHOULD PAINT MY 1995 ECLIPSE ITS BLACK NOW I LIKE IT IN BLACK BUT I WANT CHANGE SO WHAT DO U THINK I SHOULD GET IT PAINTED JUST TELL ME ALL OPINIONS ARE APPRECIATED! thank you!:dsm:

If ya wanna be really unique, what bout' that hugger blue color. Not sure of the currect name. It was used on many old muscle cars & they use it on the new Mustangs. It really pops out at you. That's what I'm gonna paint mine...

I think that the bright yellow looks pretty cool on DSM's. I really like black though, I think im going to paint mine black.

i think yellow looks better on 1g's than 2g's. The dark grey color that larryd has is my favorite color on the 2g. Blue would look really nice, too.

Some weird colors would be:
2002-2003 Cadillac CTS weird orange pearlescent color

2000-2001 Kia Rio weird yellow/green pearlescent color

Ordinary colors:
Honda Prelude 2001 Nice blue metallic color
Honda S2000 nice yellow color
Saturn Vue nice Charcoal metallic black color looks like carbon fiber paint

For a custom look the wierd yellows, orange colors on some of the newer cars. On a Sunday you could go to a couple of car lots and see what colors are out there.

Plymouth Prowler Purple metallic
Plymouth Prowler Inca gold metallic
Plymouth Prowler weird orange metallic

good luck with the car/project:thumb:

That's the same color I'm thinking of, I think. It's not a real light blue, but it's really bright...
