Decided to go ahead and paint my car with my next paycheck. I just need some opinions on what color you think looks best on 2Gs... I can't seem to make up my mind and it constantly changes so I will base my decision on what fellow tuners have to say.

Right now, it's red. I mean red looks good and all but I don't typically like all the attention it attracts, especially from the policia! I've gotten pulled over 3 times last month and I think it's because my car stands out. I was not speeding, reving high or anything... However people around me were goofing off and he decides to pick my car to pull over. I just want something I can be incognito in. :)

So please, all opinions are wanted!

I decided to go with a place called Earl Scheib because :
1) They have a warranty.
2) They have many different painting options.
3) Good prices.

Note : I will do all the prep work myself to ensure no chipping!

In my experience Maaco usually does a better job than E.S. I've seen Maaco paint jobs that were amazing, near show quality. Everyting from E.S. that I've seen is complete shit. As far as the color, it depends on whether or not you're going to have them jamb out the car or not. Painting a red car anything other than red, but leaving all the jambs and obviously the engine bay, is about the tackiest thing you could do. If it's being done right and you can just go with whatever you want, I'd say the same steel grey as your wheels, that way the polished lip will stand out, but you won't be rocking the "arrest me" red anymore.

I agree with him on the color choice. IMO, black looks pretty sexy on the 2gs, and since your head light housings are black, then it'll match, and it would look good with your wheels and your windows. But maybe that's just me, if I could, I'd paint my car black and black everything out, to me, that's sexy. Or maybe I'm just really weird.

1. 2G talon tsi Grey

2. IS300 Graphite Grey

3. Black w/ Gold Flake

4. White w/ pearl coating

5. White as white can be

My choices are from top to bottom.

my eclipse is black with blue metal flake. it looks very nice in the sun and gets a lot of attention meanwhile keeping a low profile for speeding and night driving...

i recommend the Talon gunmetal/grey color, or black. thats my 2cents.

If you want to stay with red, do Candy Apple Red from House of Kolor. I've seen this color on high end cars and it is great in and out of the sun.

I like Blue, like the Electron Blue Corvette and that in the 350Z. I have seen an Eclipse in t his color and was thinking of doing this to my GSX.

I also like Atlas Orange as that in the Murcielago. This color is good for cars with sharp lines though but I would like to see it in an Eclipse. A local painter did this for the owner of Axis Wheels' NSX-T. Nissan's Burnt orange isnt as good as this.

Black is sexy but requires alot of maintenance. It's good right after a wash but horrible after a few days of no wash or just after you run into a puddle after a wax job. My C5 is black, thats the only black car i will own.

One of my favorites is the Desert Silver in an RSX or the Pewter Silver in a Corvette. It's lighter than gunmetal but it should look great in an eclipse.

Goto the place who is painting your car and see if you can get the car color paint matched with your rims, that would look awesome. If not, the new color for the 2005 EVO MR looks sweet, its a gunmetal grey. If you are thinking about accents, I think red would look awesome for engine accents or interior colors with the dark grey. Have fun, tell us what you do and how it looks.

have someone find a good black cherry pearl.. it's not mind blowingly bright and eye catching but it looks awsome in any light.. my car gets that color in a year once i have a garage to keep it away from the drunk punks at college.

3rd.3000 gt white pearl.
well thats my .02

i'd leave it alone, there is nothin worse than popping the hood and seeing red all under there. You better be paying atleast 3 greand for this paint job and if not then don't it. Your red looks completely fine and your just going to f%&* upo your car by painting it shitty. :thumb:

I've been thinking about a new paint job for my 97 GST, and I thought it would be nice to have a SLIGHT color change. The stock gray color is a little purple-ish in certain lights, and I'd like something a little more just gray. A couple of colors I've been thinking about is the Lexus graphite gray or the BMW silver gray metallic. The Supra quicksilver color is nice, but might be a little too light/too silver. What do you guys think?

Both are good colors I think. I seen a lexus yesterday that was that color gray, it looks good IMO.

yes the IS300 graphite grey is the hotness. i will be painting mine that color if i ever need to. either that or the 350z blue but a little darker and more pearl that has a very slight color change that goes into a purpleish red.

I like the lexus is300 graphite grey, and the supra quicksilver would look really good as well...a color ive been loving lately but dont think would look good on an eclipse is pearl.

like a pearl white? cause theres a pearl white spyder gs in my town with some gunmetal rims and it looks good with the top down. with it up it looked like bird poo, white grey and black in the middle. it would look sweet on a hardtop though.
