how can you tell?
If you just counted to 30, it's fine.
erm what exactly does that mean?
I'm not sure exactly if priming it is a serious thing... But I'm just trying to help figure it out as much as you
Who gets in their car and gets on the gas right away? Am I the only person disciplined enough to wait until the car warms up before I start moving? I do this EVERY TIME I take the car anywhere, even if it's just down the road to put the trash out. Not for the sake of the turbo, but for the engine.
And this 30 seconds business is silly. It's a water-cooled turbo. As long as you take it easy for the last 5 minutes or so of driving, you'll be fine.
My guess is you had major oiling issues.
Yes, I think you are the only person that sits there.
He never said what kind of turbo he had. How do you know it's water-cooled?
Like which ones?

Like which ones?
WHICH POPULAR DSM TURBOS ARE ONLY COOLED BY OIL? Way to avoid the question! The reason I'm asking is because you're making blind statements that don't make any sense. Yes, I know it doesn't matter when we don't know what turbo he's running. So since 95% of the DSMs out there are running water-cooled turbos, why the hell shouldn't I assume he's running a water-cooled turbo?
Like I said, I think the issue was oiling. Cooling problems usually end up in coking anyway.
