what can this clank be????

driving normal last night the car all of a sudden started making a clanking that increase as speed does but only during load. The car has to be in gear and gets louder as the gears go up but not by speed for example if i put in in third from second the clanking is much luder even if the speed hasnt changed..........any ideas what it may be there is no sound at idle or when the car isnt in gear........i have no problems shifting or is there a change in performanceonly happens while in gear and with a load on the car
can it be the TOB???? please help

If I had to guess....and it's only a guess.....it may be a bad rod bearing.
